I couldn’t have intelligent so have gone for another ev tariff. Charger is new but unsupported. It is very satisfying seeing the costs.
Managed to get solar installed too - it’s great to see the graphs of where usage (during peak rate) falls to zero. Love it
Good info on that, I spotted this and was very tempted but the day rate is a fair bit higher than BG for me. The 2 extra hours would be great but I don’t think it’d work out better.
Octopus would have been my go to IF I couldn’t have sorted the BG debacle. One thing with octopus - I don’t...
Very odd one….
Driving along one day at around 25mph I got the most unnerving clunk with weird almost split second loss of power. It sounded mechanical like an auto box banging into gear or really short harsh change. No warning but thought it may have been the emergency thing whacking the...
It’s one of those odd ones - I had to learn as one of my cars was very not supported in the UK - 2006 Chrysler. You’ll work it out no problem and yes you can make a few pennies.
Directors niece had a Vauxhall - quoted £300 to sort the tpms (sensors were in wrong location and one died). £30...
Only if the second set fitted were Autel branded sensors. Other than that you would need to read the sensors and program them to the car. The cloning and actual sensor programming only works with their brand sensors. The higher up models (that have a cable that goes to the OBD port) can write...
I think you may be on to something, the fields must be strongest once you have it parked and just washed it judging by the muck they leave. Conclusive proof there me thinks.
As mentioned before by others the car fixes 4 sensors in its brain. The ways around it are to use the autel and have clones in your spare set or if you don’t want to fork out for additional sensors just have the autel and swap them in the cars brain each time.
You will pay shy of £200 for the...
I’ve always found cheap tyres last longer than more upmarket ones. I think the rubber is more akin to plastic hence some of the qualities of cheap tyres.
I don’t think the tyres MG supply are likely to be high grade - acceptable but not soft and grippy as some of the more expensive brands I’ve...
It’s all a bit messy. Some smets1 meters were “upgraded” to communicate with the DCC so they act very similarly to smets2. Some meters that were fully in smets1 could be swapped suppliers if they were exactly the same as new supplier fitted. Others remained firmly stuck on the smets1 and useless...
Excellent news.
I’m sure it’ll be fine BUT if they don’t show for an appointment you are entitled to automatic compensation but you have to log it (£30 I think). They couldn’t get my new smets2 firing so it was left dumb with another appointment to fix it at a later date, they missed that...
Also speak nicely to your dealer - when my 4 was in for a water leak ruddy boot. I got a courtesy car and might have wangled it for free as I was a decent human being.
I know naff all about the ZS but I’d suggest a trip to the dealer - there were software updates that affect charging the 12V for many cars, not sure on ZS and I believe the warranty is for upto £99 if they have to replace within 12 months but the software is the bit that I’d query. Personally...
In a former life during my degree I wrote some routines to process the data out of scanners. I got a scan for giggles in a 7T unit, when being pushed in to something that strong you can go a little dizzy and the professor who was zapping me said it made her throat tickle and that she should...
For sure if you are lucky enough to have FIT or a different supply tariff.
I’m a bit paranoid also - keeping the car awake for so long on such a slow charge huuum with the small output.
Think this is part of the EV adoption issue, my electricity tariff is different to someone else’s, the sell...
Good thinking.
I have just had solar installed and have an EVSE that supports it (if the muppet installer had installed the ct clamp but that’s another story). I don’t see the value in my situation of using excess solar. As soon as the paperwork is through I’ll sign up for 15p/kWh export and...
With the diagnostic situation and pulling updates - you’ll find a lot of more modern companies work this way ie you have to have a subscription to get anything from their servers.
Back in the olden days it would be cds but as we know they can be copied and if the diag interface was cloned...
Erm
The 4 is called Obi as the plate end on OBU.
Smart car is called Phillippe because it’s French made and plate is FPY.
Chrysler was called Arnie because it was an American made in Austria.
MG TF was called Kev as the plate started KV.
There have been others I’m sure but I forget.
