There are a number of posts about usb handling. I have experimented and found a few things, supported by those original posts.
With my R33 Trophy I note:
When I plug in the usb with folders it will all the tracks alphabetically, repeating the track if the same name appears in more than one...
Yes, I'm glad you have saved that money but, theoretically, I have saved £195 which according to all existing government information should not be possible. That is the heart of the matter.
You retaxed your car way ahead of its real tax date. You have 'lost' 6 months of tax if you had paid for that tax in the first place. But with zero tax you have lost nothing but have saved £97.50.
You were warned about a loss of tax, I was not. Your tax year moved back to 1st March, mine did...
@Funks, the system works as you describe for those whose renewal date is 1st May onwards but for those of us who had a renewal date of 1st April the tax due date remained at 1st April.
The VED checker will update to show a new tax date of 1st April 2026. I am assuming that date will not be modified if I ignore the renewal letter I received.
Join the club. I assume your VED was due from 1st April so, as I did, expect either to be moved back a month to have a renewal date of 1st March or to be told I needed to pay £195. It came at a surprise to me and others that the zero rate was applied and the tax was not due until 1st April 2026...
Yes, I am probably overthinking it because the system did not respond in the way I thought it should and am concerned there are other foibles that could occur
@siteguru, no I did not use the renewal letter and am, too, surprised at the result of my actions.
But, as @Gomev has pointed out, you...
@Gomev, thank you for your post.
I did investigate that and replied to you post. The issue is that I renewed from April at no cost but all the information put out by the government is that (1) I should not have been able to do that from the 1st of the month [your gov site example] and that (2)...
Yes I have visited that site and it says I should be paying £195 in VED. However when I renewed online I was not charged anything. Please see the relevant thread on the Chat subforum. Hence the confusion.
@salty, that's the confusing thing in that the VED Checker says the car is taxed and if you read my previous posts you will see screenshots that reflect that.
Firstly, I realise there is a thread on the Chat subforum but I am posting here to request those that have not forshortened their April tax year date to contribute to that thread.
I used the 'no letter' route to tax my car on the 1st March. The application was accepted with a zero tax. The VED...
So I wondered if I would get a letter even though the VED Checker says the car is taxed until 1st April 2026 and here it is. The key info is bottom right in red. The question is, should I start the tax process to see what is offered?
As far as is known no UK MG4 has a heat pump. Please can you confirm by photo/documentation that yours is a UK model with a heat pump. My Trophy LR does not have a heat pump.
Could be. But then again there is the difference between what the power meter shows and that on the App, ~300W in the first image. If the losses are consistent then the total losses would be ~500W between mains and battery.
Sorry to hear about your MG Granny Charger. Mine worked well for a year before I got an EVSE.
You should need only one tap on the battery level tile on the home page to get you to the next level.
As you say there are losses in the system and, also, different reports of power being supplied...
@MG Clive, what was your original tax renewal date? If it were not 1st April 2025 then a new date of 1st March is to be expected.
It is the renewal for those that had a date of 1st April that is adding confusion though if you did have the April date it would add more complexity.
Not linked to the infotainment version. My Trophy is on R33 and its ACC controls changed at first service with SCUK001 though there may have been other changes not told to me.
