The great big insurance rip off

Well, maybe they don't like the area you're in. Has anything happened recently to make them think the area might be getting less car friendly? Insurance companies are very risk averse, if they think the number of cars being damaged/stolen/whatever else you can think of is going to increase, or...

The great big insurance rip off

The vehicle probably doesn't meet the risk profile of their underwriters. Whether they'll actually tell you that or not... Remember, insurance companies are in business to make money and they're used to having a far from level playing field thanks to legislation.

Sounds great! How long did you have to wait for it?

    Badge removal

Plasti-dip it the same colour as your paintwork? Won't be invisible but from a distance it probably won't be noticed by anything but an eagle.

    Poor emergency stop

We very rarely come across cars without all sorts of driver aids these days. It's rare for someone to lock up wheels and go skating off into the bushes. The process for emergencies now is to just stamp as fast and as hard as possible on the brake pedal and let the car sort out the mess. If...

    Unexpected braking y'think ??

We're at that dangerous stage where computers are controlling important aspects of some cars but other vehicles are still completely in the hands of humans. When a driver does an emergency stop in front of you, it's usually easy to see why and you prepare for it, maybe even subconsciously. When...

    MG4 Xpower charging cables

Handy to have a granny charger available though, just in case your ludicrously expensive wall charger fails. Have you ever looked inside one of those things? There's nothing that justifies the price the manufacturers charge for them.

Powering devices from the MG4 battery

Probably says "Nope. Not doing this." and cuts you down. Let's hope you weren't in the middle of compiling your new blockbuster AAA title busting game.

    X POWER EXPERIENCE.

I don't have one yet (soon I hope) but I've never seen a full 100% on any youtube video. It'll reach 100%, presumably, once it's rolling but the launch setup on all those I've seen has either been below 20% or at 66%. No idea why there's a disparity, no doubt it'll come to light soon...

    Asymmetrical wing mirrors!

Maybe the range of adjustment in the housing is insufficient to allow symmetrical mounting. Who knows. Doesn't seem like a big issue to me, though I suppose now you're seen it you won't be able to 'unsee' it. Mind you, the images weren't taken at the same angle or distance, so it's not that easy...

    Jump Start

I thought it was mandatory for all cars with electric door locks/releases to have an easy to use mechanical emergency release backup in place. If it's not working or missing, that's a very serious issue. It's certainly something I'd expect MG/your dealer to prioritise.

Rear lights condensing on MG4 SE

Ah, but if the 'service manager' identifies the fault, they won't be able to add the initial diagnostic fee to your bill. Cynical? Me? Never!

MG4 Charging port lights stopped working

You can get a special tool for withdrawing and inserting car fuses. Makes things a lot easier. Personally, I'm always leery of using pliers in a car's fuse box...

Worrying drop of battery and range below 25%

A battery cycle is generally considered to be a full discharge/recharge so, unless I've misunderstood it, you could discharge and recharge ten times the way you're doing it to reach one cycle. How that actually works out in practice I'm not really sure.

    Rear disc scoring normal?

Damaged brake disks is partly a result of government legislation. We're no longer allowed to use 'dangerous' materials in brake pads so they are now much harder then they used to be. That resulted in poor braking performance so the manufacturers had to use softer material in disks to compensate...

    Android Auto Keeps Disconnecting

A lot of issues with phones dropping out in cars can be caused by dirt in the phone's socket as well. They generally sit in people's pockets picking up dust and fluff and it collects in the tiny USB port. For some reason. Android Auto seems extremely sensitive to losing its connection so keeping...

Powering devices from the MG4 battery

We'd all huddle together in a candlelit living room playing games of I-Spy. Not easy when you can hardly 'spy' anything because it's so dark. We'd have endless arguments... "You can't see that!" "Yes I can!" "Well, I can't." "Not my problem." Can you imagine three-hour long power cuts happening...

Next Chinese X Power Rival Incoming.

There's nothing to touch the XPower at that price point. When I was looking at EV's, my first choice was the Kia EV6 GT. It's a really nice car but, at over 60k to buy, plus getting on for a 16 month wait for a new one. Don't think so Kia!
