This happened with mine as well. The original tyres were chinese Bridgestones. I put Pirellis on it and now it is no longer an issue. Although I still experience the steering unit as 'sensitive'.

I would suggest to try custom mode. You may want to use eco for the throttle to dampen the response, but leave the breaks in sports mode if you prefer that. I use throttle in eco, brakes in normal and steering in sports mode.
