How Driving Mode Affects The mpg.

Thanks for all your replies, but I'm still not getting the full SP on this. Forgetting for the moment MG and all hybrid cars...a normal 12V battery, charging through the alternator, will need the engine/vehicle to be run on a regular basis. If you only run the vehicle on short journeys the...

How Driving Mode Affects The mpg.

All that seems to make sense except for the fact that my MG often starts in EV mode, from cold, for the first few miles?

How Driving Mode Affects The mpg.

Do any of our wise forum members know how the charging system works? Let me explain...most of my driving is around town, does this mean the auxiliary battery gets very little charge? In other words, like the old 12V batteries needed a good run now and then to fully charge, is it the same with...

    Thinking of buying one

Morning Kev. Just read your comment about age. I said the same thing when we bought a Peugeot 208SW when I retired18 years ago. I definitely don't think this will be your last car. You're 74 now, upgrade on PCP in 3 years and again when you're 80 and you will still be looking at new models...

    unregister with iSmart

I've messed up big time with setting up an iSmart account. Now it sends me round incircles asking for different verification codes, passwords etc. I want to start from scratch. How can I delete everything and start again?

    PLease Help

Hello Ann. The only loud, unexplained noise I've experienced is one I described in a previous post, #6 I think. Not as bad as yours, though. Anyway, give this a try...go into MG Pilot and turn off all the alarms. If that silences the racket, turn them back on one at a time to see if you can...

Thanks Clive, more sound advice. I think you're really earning your stripes.

    Tyre Pressures and Pumps

Two combined topics, if you please. One, I used up the puncture repair fluid within the first week. (see previous post). I don't intend to buy a refill after reading the comments on these forums, but does the compressor bit still work as a pump and pressure check. Two, the pressures recommended...

    Coolant & Screen wash

Thanks for that, and all the other help from various members. You're right about the coolant levels, but just checking in case.

    Coolant & Screen wash

MG recommend particular types of coolant and screen washer fluid in their manual, but Halfords don't recommend Glycol (OAT) coolant for the MG3 Hybrid, and I can't find anything about 'Original MG Motor screen washer fluid. Comments please.

    Demisting

I was ready to argue that keeping the air con on constantly ramps up the fuel use, but I've just read up on the RAC website and they endorse what you say. So thanks for that advice. aitch
