    MG4: The New Batch

And therein lies the issue I think. They're meant to be used under nearly constant supervision.

    MG4: The New Batch

Sorry never noticed your question till I saw tsedge's response. I was more talking of the risk of overheating and possibility of fire (low though) as apparently 3 pins aren't meant to take on providing power to an EV. I'm not too sure of these things though as only getting into EVs now. Read...

    MG4 Rival ?

I'm no Tesla fan boy and until the MG4 never cared much for MG but based on what I have seen thus far, Tesla from a distance and detached and MG really invested due to my interest in MG4, I'll give this one to Tesla.

    MG4: The New Batch

Guru, a type 2 also serves the same function of charging at 11kw and 22kw at public charge points right? Are all type 2s 3 Phase?

    MG4: The New Batch

Do you have 3 Phase in your house? Most houses are single phase. Fast chargers in public space, 3 phases so is it for that purpose then rather than for your home charging?

    MG4: The New Batch

Ok. So basically the benefit here is that they can charge without having a home charger yet, albeit with the awareness that it's a slower process and also poses more of an electrical safety risk?

    MG4: The New Batch

Sorry I'm being lazy to look into it myself now but I seem to have noticed there's a gravitation towards granny chargers. I thought that was the slow 3 pin wall chargers that people were being discouraged from using as type 2s were faster, better and more universal ie more public spaces would...

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

I'm sure like me it was an agonising decision. Like others we had both looked forward to MG4 ownership. Maybe later, when the car is no longer going into prison mode.

Actually I thought same when I looked at it. Was counting his actions rather than "the" actions.

Sorry got it wrong. Other way around. Once to lock and twice to open. See vid below around 3.20 mark.

Im certain I once saw a video review which said you lock by pressing twice and open by pressing once.

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

Very good I agree. If I had this kind of information earlier, I'd have been more than content to just wait patiently. Sometimes being quiet doesn't help their cause, I know they have to balance their messaging out in the open so as not to lose market share or put off prospective new clients...

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

Happy with MG there. That's what I'd expect from a responsible company that is looking to keep its customers and attract new ones.

MG4 Trophy Focus Warning Alert (Fix incoming)

I have even forgotten about this one. I had to laugh when I read beckyldav's post and remembered what my dealer said when I raised it. He said "what they've found is for people wearing glasses the software and sensors were getting confused....." I kid you not, it was very difficult for me to...

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

Everyone here is really appreciated with the way people are trying to talk through issues and establish a root cause or work around. However I very much believe this energy should be expended to let the authorities and MG know. This is not one of those issues that we should be "working...

Locked in my MG4 & unable to escape - Serious Safety Issue

I would do this right now if I was an owner already as like several have said, this is a serious issue. Most of my driving is motorway driving at odd hours of day. I shiver to think what would happen if caught on the M8 or A90 at 2343 hrs.
