hopefully the parts won't be too expensive to replace. I did mean to try using the air line to blow any water out when frosts were expected, not sure if that would work though.
Our eNiro is more efficient than the MG4 in the summer but slightly worse in winter, but that might be that the OH likes the rapid heat up of the Niro and leaves it on.
I've lost a couple of Karcher washers to freezing, the plastic pump is the problem. I repaired the first one, the second one had multiple parts broken so I dumped it.
In the summer, yes! This time of year (-6 outside at the moment) I'm afraid it would be surfex, snow foam, pressure rinse, snow foam, pressure rinse then final rinse with water from dehumidifier and drip dry.
Thanks Paul, this sounds right up my street. If you don't mind revealing what is your annual (home) consumption? I'm trying to match battery size to consumption although if I can get 18kWh for my budget it sounds like a no-brainer. Is your installation from a big national or local company? Are...
There was a trial 4/5 years ago, you could lease a new Leaf and get the charger installed for free, all you had to do was plug the car in before 18:00 a certain number of nights each month and they would pull from the car to the grid and then put it back for free.
My trip to Scotland last year I calculated I'd get home at around 11% but the A17 was so slow moving I ended up with 17% at home. I tend to keep an eye open for new chargers appearing near home so I can splash and dash if I get it wrong.
Sounds like a good trip, only thing I'd have done differently would have been to cut short the final charge and aimed to arrive home at about 10% (assuming home charging).
I used to get angry when seeing this type of FUD, then a wise person said 'if something on media makes you angry, the chances are that is what it was intended to do, so don't react'. Nowadays it earns a dislike and 'don't recommend' in the hope that the all powerful algorithms will push this...
A bit more research and I think option 4 is a no if I want to keep the FiT payments as any battery consumption would register on the generation meter.
Ofgen have put out some guidance regarding adding a battery to a FiT solar and in a nutshell the DNO have to approve it, the FiT licensee has to...
I suspect that's the intention. Last night I requested 50% by 8am, the initial schedule was a single block 00:30-6:00 but at 18:00 it did a half hour, then another at 20:30, a short blip around 00:30 then 3 more blocks. I had 2 unable to control your device messages around midnight and 4:30 and...
For me it's the 'hold the steering wheel' one when I am holding the wheel and yet there are times when I'm not and it is quite happy to carry on. As for the straighten the wheel one I wonder if it is part of the LKA software initialisation checks.
There was something similar available here a few years back although it was for Chademo although I don't think it is any more. It would fit the bill as I intended to get a an EV van (eNV200) that would only do 2-3k miles a year so could power the house the rest of the time.
I guess that's what they mean by AC coupled. Where does your battery feed into the household power system and what CT clamps are in use? I can DM you if you prefer.
Some interesting points there. Amongst the notes on the Octopus site where they mention stand alone batteries it mentions that if a battery is added FiT may need to be informed and it is certainly the case if you replace the inverter or panels.
Deemed export is based on 50% of your generation...
Like @tsedge I have been following the solar/battery/EV discussions here and have been considering adding a house battery.
We have a 4kW solar array installed by the previous owner on FiT, it generates 3.7-4.2 MWh per annum. Last year EDF paid £910 in generation and deemed export payments and I...
I did see a YT video recently of a guy that was able to use an eNV200 van (chademo) with a specific charger that allowed V2H to power his house. It sounded a good solution for me as I was considering replacing out tip/fishing/horse feed car with an electric van.
True, although I tried quite hard to self consume as much of this summer's output as I could and still only managed 1.1 MWh out of the 3 generated, (no batteries!).
Sorry I forgot that unless you had been looking at solar panels prior to around 2017(?) you wouldn't have known about FiT. I believe it is possible to replace/add panels but but your FiT payments would be based on your original agreement, usually 4kW. I think if you originally had a 4kW south...
