Why I sold my MG4 Trophy

True but the Tesla was within budget, it just didn't appeal. I wanted a hatchback and the MY looked like a Logitech mouse from the 1990s.

Why I sold my MG4 Trophy

Better is a very broad term, it was the MG4 that persuaded me to try an EV not a Tesla.

Why I sold my MG4 Trophy

The red is about the best colour, and the supercharger network makes it great for off the cuff trips (or work related travel eg rep) and if I needed that it would be the tool of choice. I guess I would get used to not having a drivers binnacle/head s up, no indicator stalk (highland) and iffy...

MG4, Zappi and Octopus Intelligent Go

Lately I have been requesting 50% by 8am and the schedule has been after midnight to around 6am, but I'll get 2 or 3 random half hour slots during the afternoon/early evening plus it seems to think 50% is around 35kWh.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

I pay tax on my state pension because I contributed to SERPS for a few years. They have announced that if you only receive the basic state pension it will not be taxed, as with the frozen bands the state pension is expected to exceed £12,570 in 2027 due to inflation.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

So now you have to spend it all otherwise they will anyway.

Why I sold my MG4 Trophy

The software and supercharger network is what Tesla got right, M3 highland isn't a bad looking car but it's not a hatchback, the rest of the Tesla range are just fugly. Our poverty spec Niro doesn't have any app connection but its not really an issue, the MG4 does its job ok not perfect but it...

    Tyre pressure abnormalities

Same on mine, but after a cold nigh they are all at 2.3 bar and the right rear is the first to be reported, then I get left rear/ multiple tyres. I just add 0.2 bar once the nights get cold and the problem goes away.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

As an oldie I'd love to have a spare £20k to save each year, that said I know where my current premium bond money is going next year, I won't be lending the government any more money at a cheap rate.

    Today’s budget

There already is a hoof 'tax', a set of new shoes cost around £140 every 6-8 weeks.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

I think they started that last year when their first act (after showing they could be as corrupt as the tories, giving jobs to their mates) was the vindictive attack on those that tend not to vote labour, pensioners and farmers.

Pay per mile. Another blow for EV drivers

I had a similar dilemma, had an old Honda Jazz as a fishing/tip/horse feed car, only does around 2k miles a year. I had planned to replace it with a small electric van but the imposition of commercial VED meant I kept the Jazz and will not be going electric with its replacement.

    Odd work practices

Those were the days, proper computer rooms raised floors and heavy duty aircon. I went to a county council office to install some software for them and as part of it I needed to access the mainframe. At this site I could only do that from the computer room, they took me down into the basement...

Has anyone managed to switch on A/C remotely?

After using the car yesterday the screen defrosted beautifully this morning so maybe it had gone into deep sleep mode.

    Is Main beam height adjustable?

Mines the same, there are 2 screws on the Trophy model to adjust dip and main beam height. I think there's either a YouTube or possibly a post on here about how to do it. Must get round to mine too.

EV charging at Center Parcs ?

Had a couple of stays at Forest Holidays cabins this year. They have Podpoints, as far as I know not bookable but at both sites the only time it wasn't available was at Ardgarten on change over day because their staff minibus was plugged in.

How to reset the road speed limit when the xPower gets it wrong?

Or turn it off and just use the Nav screen.

    Odd work practices

'Little man' syndrome. As an IT contractor I came across a few people like that over the years. Mostly it was just hostility because we were contractors and outsiders but occasionally they were people who had absolute control over their tiny empire and needed everyone to know it.

    Odd work practices

Whilst answering the Tomato Energy thread some memories from when I started working for one of the regional gas companies back in the late 1970s. I went there as a senior programmer, grade SO 5 or 6,grades were so important then. On my start day I was introduced to what I can only describe as...
