Cooling and phase changes have dramatically different levels of energy transfer. It takes way more energy transfer to freeze water than it does to cool water temperature down. e.g. dropping water temperature by 8°C is only 1/10th of the energy transfer required to change state from liquid at...

    MG ZS Long range Efficiency

Range estimates are based on recent driving. If your recent driving has been city/suburban, then that's what it is basing the range estimate on. As you start doing highway speeds then it's accumulating km at a new economy rate and adjusting the range estimate accordingly.

Battery equalisation on ZSEV Trophy LR

They are confusing BMS recalibration and state of health check with equalisation. A battery BMS recalibration/health check requires the occasional deep discharge followed by a full slow (i.e. AC) charge. Equalisation just needs charging to 100%, the SOC it starts from isn't relevant.

    V2L power wash

The car's on-board inverter is capable of triple that output. MG do not supply a rating for the V2L, it is not listed in their specifications. How much it will actually supply is a function of the V2L adapter used (which tells the car what upper power limit to use) and the load applied.

I guess it depends if they are charging for it or not. One way to drum up some business.

Not really. For further clarification, that's just the fee DNSP (Essential Energy) levies on the retailer per kWh during peak - that's only a network access cost, not the wholesale energy cost. This is the cost of the poles and wires (and yes there is also a fixed daily charge for that was...

Just to clarify, the three-rate TOU tariff still exists and will continue to apply for anyone (like you) who is still on it. If you look at that link I posted earlier, the second page shows the obsolete tariffs still in play. An "obsolete" Essential Energy tariff doesn't mean it no longer...

Yeah - I'm on the solar soaker tariff structure, there's no shoulder tariff. You are still on the now obsolete three rate TOU. It will eventually be retired. https://www.essentialenergy.com.au/-/media/Project/EssentialEnergy/Website/Files/Our-Network/PriceListAndExplanatoryNotes2025-26.pdf...

With the 1 July electricity price rises, I've changed plan back to the Powershop EV Day plan. These are our new rates: Our home battery gets installed tomorrow, so I don't expect to import much energy outside of the free energy period each day. The daily supply fee is pretty ordinary, but...

To use or not use A/C in hot weather

Aircon (cooling) is a heat pump, what it's not is a reverse cycle heat pump which is what the euro option will be. Yup. Our aircon is left on permanently, can sometimes need it in winter if the car's been in the sun. Just a matter of whether it's set to 22, 23 or 24 °C.

That's one of the weakest arguments alive. Nitrogen filling for regular cars is both costly and inconvenient for no benefit to ride, handling, performance, wear rates, or vehicle efficiency/economy. Just inflate your tyres for free. Or waste your money. I don't care. Just don't BS people...

    MG4 in Australia

There is no evidence nitrogen filled tyres will last any longer than air filled tyres. It's just a waste of money which can instead go towards your next set of tyres.

Keeping tyre pressure even helps keep tyre wear rates even. I don't wait for a tyre pressure warning to inflate a tyre which loses pressure a bit faster than the others.

Over time the air in tyres will naturally increase the proportion of nitrogen.

There is a no difference in temperature induced rise in tyre pressure between air and nitrogen filled tyres in regular passenger vehicles. You've spent $30 to solve a non-existent problem.
