Have a look under the car. That will tell you if it's BS.

I've given up on MG for the tow bar. No response from them at all. So I am getting one of those StealthEV tow bars fitted.

MG4 powering other stuff (Vehicle to Load aka ‘V2L’)

That will be up to the BMS. Sigenegy have DC EVSE capable of V2X, but in Australia at least the discharge capability is not as yet enabled. They have two models, 12.5 kW and 25 kW. https://www.sigenergy.com/uploads/en_download/1719567702451650.pdf Whether the car can participate in V2X is...

MG4 powering other stuff (Vehicle to Load aka ‘V2L’)

When using the basic V2L adapter here in Australia that's correct. But you can get other V2L adapters which enable more power from the on board inverter, which is capable of up to ~ 7 kW.

A few times. I'm at the end of a rural power line. This is normal.

We are talking about V2L though, not EVSE.

How long is considered "continuous"? e.g. 3 kW kettles are common and if full would take minutes to boil.

MG4 powering other stuff (Vehicle to Load aka ‘V2L’)

Yep. Here the 2.2 kW limit for "official" V2L adapters makes sense given our standard plugs/sockets/cables are only 10 A rated. In the UK they more commonly supply 16 A / 3.5 kW V2L adapters given standard plugs/sockets/cables over there are 13A rated, and are usually connected to a 30 A ring...

MG4 powering other stuff (Vehicle to Load aka ‘V2L’)

I've used it multiple times to supply supplemental charge to our home battery during longer grid outages. Video demonstrating it in action: I've since set up a means to be able to leave the car in the garage during such instances. Last April I had one day/night where I drew 22 kWh from the...

    MG4 in Australia

I called my local service centre to book in to have a tow bar fitted. They rang back to say MG Australia have no stock of tow bars and no ETA of when they will be available. I have written to MG Australia to validate this and ask them for an ETA. I wanted to use MG to ensure compatibility and...

    MG4 51kWh LFP Battery Health

Can you clarify exactly where these meter(s) are? I just did a quick experiment to record both the AC power supply to my EVSE as reported by my Iotawatt energy meter and the HV battery DC power as reported by the car via OBD port. I do need to validate the timestamps, I think there is a bit...

Presumably these are AC power supply numbers, not the DC energy going into the battery after conversion losses (which will be significant, of the order of 10%).
