    MG4 - Post crash repairs query - Pyro-fuse

This member is in Australia, second hand parts are slowly making it onto the market but a complete crashed MG4 EV with very low kms on the clock can be bought relatively cheaply at the salvage auctions ..... so no real money to be made parting it out ...... If it hasn't been marked as a...

    Sleeping in MG4 [merged thread]

From sleeping under a tarp hung over the Norton, to a 3 man tent for 2 people, to a Kombi .... well 3 Kombis actually, a fold out camping 4 person tent on a 6 x 4 box trailer, to a Mazda 3500 mini bus converted to a motorhome, to a Hino 7 mtr bus converted to a motorhome, to a 29 ft Fuso coach...

I guess it depends where you are, 42°C over night can be a tad uncomfortable, so can -5°C ... maybe it's just an age thing .... but yeah/nah, not happening for me any more ...... the 2" of rain over night and 125km/h winds we had for the last 2 days makes the thought of a tent not quite as...

I think the link to wiring in a switch (and fused relay) to the DRLs is the best solution. No getting out of the car in the cold and rain, no problem if you forget to turn them back on, it's not illegal to drive without them, and I can leave the system on with the temp set for the dog when he...

Ah, that makes sense, I see in Swedish it can mean poison or married ..... I wonder how those two could be the same meaning for the one word  ;) T1 Terry

Lord Lucas, the Prince of Darkness, they even have a part number for a bottle of the smoke that escapes from every Lucas wiring harness ...... unfortunately the adapter to suit the more common wiring harnesses is NLA ....... I remember the Norton had a rather large Zener Diode mounted in a...

    MG4 - Post crash repairs query - Pyro-fuse

Under the centre console there is crash module, unplug that and it all comes good. There are people who can reflash these modules rather than pay out the big $$ for a genuine replacement. This bloke has used a different model front wheel drive MG EV to repower his 928 Porche, but I believe the...

    Sleeping in MG4 [merged thread]

Remember that, especially when you upped the voltage to 18V, 2 x 12V batteries let the smoke out of the little motors, but a 12V and 6V battery in series gave them quite a boost, but the standard control did get rather hot, but there were performance controllers complete with brake control ...

Aromatic fuses, a warning smell the fuse is about at it's limit ..... I think there might a market for that ...... and a range of different aromas for the different fuse capacity ..... too many to identify circuits to identify which fuse using smellatronics, but at least you nose would lead you...

Charging Flap / Door not opening

The more times the flap is opened, the more worn the locking mechanism would get ...... it wouldn't be getting stuck closed but rather not staying closes if the problem was accelerated wear and tear The inner black door is the actual operating part, the cover is just decorative. If some of the...

Charging Flap / Door not opening

In frustration, I wedged the PO box key under the rear top corners and kept flicking between the locked and unlocked on the key fob .... no help, got my fingers under the white cap and applied a bit more pressure, still flicking between lock and unlock ..... and the door skin separated from the...

Charging Flap / Door not opening

I seem to have jinked myself saying the 51 has been problem free ..... can't open the charger flap now and we are 1600km from the dealer we bought it from ..... so I guess it's a phone around on Monday to try and find a dealer who can at least rip the outer skin off and give us an get out of...

Hmmm...... 20 amps x even 12V, but more likely 14V, 2400w per headlight ..... seriously, check the cable size used to wire in the headlight globes .... does that look like wire that can handle more than 20 amps ..... remember, the fuse must open circuit before the insulation on the wire becomes...

strange failure to go into ready

I often thought that was why I had to say rude words to the 51, but I've discovered that simply opening the drivers door and closing it again to make sure it is fully shut, seems to do the trick. The seatbelt thing was a pain when driving the 10 feet or so to our yard gate to lock it as we left...

Nah, much like the clothes dryer that eats one sock, that area you can't see into anywhere in the under bonnet area is a link to a parallel universe ....... Your frustration is only having to find a replacement, the poor bugga on the other side has to find where this mystery fuse/nut/bolt came...
