    Your day in 3 words.

Yet another night with the aircon blowing cool air over the bed .... See what you are missing over there in the UK. Sleep well when it's your turn, I'll be looking after the fort with the other Aussies, takes and extra 3 hrs for the WA crowd to see the sun rise T1 Terry

    Entertainment screen

I had this problem and found cleaning the screen with glasses cleaner wipes helped .... well, the first time it was because I hadn't peeled the plastic screen protector off o_O Strangely, it worked fine for my wife with the plastic screen protector still in place :( T1 Terry

    MG EV 4

Try spraying around the button with WD40 PTFE spray and see if that helps at all. Maybe water has somehow got to the contacts and is creating enough corrosion resistance to stop a clear pulse getting through to the sensor that triggers the lock release T1 Terry

Just a topic I thought some might relate to with the news cycles for ever showing yet another Trump distraction attempt ..... every one of them must be doing harm to the US economy ..... or is it resilient enough to survive Trump ....... T1 Terry

Screeching when reversing - not using brakes

When you apply the brakes, you apply some pressure between the pad and the disc and this stops the high frequency vibrate the edge of the pad picking up on the disc creates .... and the squeal stops. To prove if this is right or wrong, flush around the brake pads with the hose, then try it and...

"I'm in a bit of a fix at the moment"

Maybe, they are yet to go head to head with the new wave of cheaper EVs, they don't sell well at home, so a decline in export sales would hurt big time .... T1 Terry

Recovering a Lead Acid battery after it has been deeply discharged

Sorry, this turned into a long post and I did try to only touch on each part .... I was taught "there is no such thing as a silly question" when I was doing my Cert 4 training and assessment course .... I gotta tell you, I've had some training sessions where participants challenged that idea ;)...

    Home charger extension?

The only think I'd say as a negative regarding this extension cable, the flexible boot is clearly a CV of some small powered vehicle, a worm clamp holding it onto the back of the plug and some heat shrink sealing the cable to the boot. Firstly there doesn't seem to be any cable security to...

Europe scraps 2035 new ICE car sales ban

Why? They could keep diesel engines and run them on synthetic methane, or petrol engines on hydrogen made the carbon dioxide free method But, it doesn't stop there, heat sea water to 2,500*C and it spits to hydrogen and oxygen, under pressure, the remaining salt will remain as a liquid, storing...

    Hot enough for you?

Another warm one on the way max not expected until 15 o'clock, but the air con is trying it's best, maybe around the 30°C mark inside at the moment ..... a tad warm to be wearing this neck brace I can assure you, but better than the head splitting migraine without it T1 Terry

Recovering a Lead Acid battery after it has been deeply discharged

There have been a lot of threads about flat 12V aux batteries and a bit of mythical knowledge coming from the dealers and most definitely from who ever wrote the 12V maintenance software .... clueless comes to mind ..... A bit of preamble from another thread here Replacement 12V auxiliary...

Replacement 12V auxiliary battery for MGS5

A lead acid battery needs to remain at charging voltage, above 13.6 V min, to actually recharge. 13.6 V will maintain the charge at 100% if it is already at 100%, it will bring a battery up to about 50% SOC if it stays at that voltage for 24 hrs or more, but that is no enough voltage to over...

"I'm in a bit of a fix at the moment"

MG or Saic Motors? I think the MG brand will suffer, but Saic motors? What brands does SAIC own? SAIC operates joint ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors while also developing its own brands such as MG, Roewe, MAXUS, IM Motors, and Wuling/Baojun. SAIC acquired LDV (formerly Leyland...

Keeping track of my MG4 (efficiency)

Our poverty pack 51 said I had 320kms range when I set off for the AEVA meeting, but the kwh/100kms said 25 ..... With a 51 supposed kwh battery, that added up to 200kms ..... The orange warning came on about 15kms from home, I rolled through front gate with 198km on the trip counter and 2% on...
