I know of one other person that successfully went through the rejection route about 11 months back. He had to commission an independent report and threaten legal action but eventually the lease company gave in, gave him a full refund of fees to date and with a bit more pressure, paid the £1.2k...
General consensus seems to be cars manufactured 2024 onwards seem to generate less complaints (although there are still some). Trouble is, they aren't big sellers so often cars registered up to late 2024 can actually still have a manufacture date of 2023.
The Certificate of Conformity will show...
Great to hear.
Sadly not the case with our car as dealer put 4 new tyres on at 200 miles and tried a set of wheels from another car but the vibration remained, so it wasn’t flat spots for us (I believe many dealers did the same but to no avail)
It's been ages since the group litigation started and all gone very quiet so I'm wondering if it's still going ahead?
I believe in some of Bricktop's last posts a few months back that he said he would be handing the car back this month so was hoping the litigation bore fruit soon before that point.
Not part of the group action but I believe Bricktop's car was due to be returned this September and he certainly wasn't intending to get another MG if memory serves
Sadly not - MG UK have claimed the issue is just a characteristic and they are not prepared to sanction the 'phase 2' fix that you had applied. Their customer services representative went further to say I should expect it with such a powerful car.
Strongly suspect this is due to the...
Sorry to hear this - at least MG Australia are actively trying to fix the problem unlike in the UK where we just have to accept it, although according to certain owners, there is no problem to fix as it only affects a couple of cars!
Yep, great value car for the money. Peanuts to run for the performance on offer.
Essential - make sure you get a test drive of the actual car first though and ensure that test drive includes a good stretch of 70mph road
Was mentioned in a couple:-
MG4 XPower Review and Buyers Guide 2023 | Electrifying.com
And at ~36 mins into this one:-
I test drove one for a day which had no vibrations so ordered on the back of that. Sadly our car had it and so did the Hendy demonstrator which I asked to drive to compare...
Interesting - do you have figures on number of X-Powers sold vs those with the vibration issue? Genuinely interested to see if there are only a few of us effected.
Speaking to the master technician at my dealer, he informed me that during his X-Power specific training he underwent, all 6 cars...
I've got lots of friends & work colleagues with EVs across several different brands and they have all had some sort of issue (mainly software related) so definitely not just an SAIC problem.
For me, had it just been the odd warranty & software issue, I would still consider one of their products...
Car ticks every box for us as our everyday family wagon and is exceptional value for money given the performance on offer.
Dealer, on the whole has been reasonable (been back there way too many times but that's down mainly to issues with the car which isn't their fault), but at the end of the...
Same here - car does everything we need and more but the attitude of MG UK means out of principle, we won't buy another MG product.
They also lost the sale of a Cyberster as well as a close family member was all set to order one until he'd heard about my experiences (and that of many on here).
I think there is something in this as assume the reason the vibes seem to improve over time with the old set of tyres maybe due to the tread depth decreasing.
