    Octopus changing its mind.

IOG has always worked like this. The schedule is fluid depending on demand, that's the point of it isn't it. If you want things to track the schedule then you will have to automate it. I have Octopus integrated into Home Assistant and it shows if you are on cheap rate or not minute by minute...

Couldn't you just disconnect the vent motors?

    Robotaxi event, oh dear!

I concur entirely. The point of taxis made for the job is maximising space inside (lots of headroom, seats for up to 5) and minimising the exterior dimensions, and giving them tight turning circles. Tesla seem to have do the opposite to all that. Might be ok for the wide boulevards of LA (where...

Those aren't OTG devices though? Though I guess you could with an OTG adapter.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

People have been tweaking the software in cars ever since they went programable (even before by swapping out OEM ECUs for programable third-party devices). My Golf R was extensively modified from factory, everything from cruise control, how the lights worked (you could control individual LEDs...

OHME home pro & octopus energy

The car will stop charging at whatever it is set to. The Ohme cannot override that.

MG4 just got towed, will it still work?

But you'd think if it were dumping that energy as heat there would be a lot of it at speed. And to generate heat it would have to put a resistance across the motor - and that would slow it down, just like regen? I'll have to research this one I think!

MG4 just got towed, will it still work?

I've coasted in neutral for miles at a time, and it appears to totally freewheel, no regeneration and no resistance I can can notice. The car speeds up as the slope increases. This is at motorway speeds. I'm just interested in what is happening to all this harmful back EMF when I've done that.

MG4 just got towed, will it still work?

What happens if you throw the car into neutral whilst in motion? Isn't that a similar situation? No energy goes back into the battery, what happens to the back EMF then? And if it is harmful, why do the control systems let you do it?

    MG4 Secret Menu Mode...

Maybe, but they dim the DLRs when working as side lights/parking lights - so they have two modes of operation. It's just a cost saving to use the same lamps for two functions.

    MG4 Secret Menu Mode...

But the conversation is about DLR lights, you are quoting a requirement for parking lights or side lights which is irrelevant to DLRs whilst the car is "on" but parked.

    BRSK Broadband

We've talked about the landline and decided that the only calls we get on it are nuisance calls so it will be no loss. And yes, ideally I need a fixed IP as I host various servers at home that are publicly available.

    BRSK Broadband

I was thinking of switching to BRSK for my broadband. I'm not a heavy user, the most is probably UHD streaming to the TV so the 150 sounds like it will be fine to me - double my current FTC connection, and symmetrical. The only downside I can see is they charge £5 a month for a fixed IP which...

MG4 just got towed, will it still work?

Without a key the rear wheels are mechanically locked in the gearbox. They would have to either lift the rear or put the rear on a dolly.

Not seen that before, but have you tried rebooting it? Hold down the home button.

Somewhat irritated - Octopus price rise ?

Maybe it's cheaper to shut down renewables than prop up the fossil industry. Decoupling would be good for consumers though.

MG4 Trophy map update – BEWARE

Use Google maps. It's easy to report errors, or even in some cases fix them yourself (it depends how "major" the edited feature is deemed). The changes are usually implemented fairly quickly. I regularly get out of date speed limits changed, they had the routing through our local motorway...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

It wasn't ideal conditions on the motorway (too busy with traffic and not enough time to do this accurately) but I measured around 41Hz at 65mph and 47Hz at 70mph. That would roughly correspond with the frequencies measured on an xpower I saw in a post in another thread?

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Checked the tyres and they are nice and smooth. I'll take it out tomorrow and measure the hum frequency. Let's see if it is anywhere near the xpower hum...
