Real Cost Per Mile Of EV Driving

Intelligent Octopus is better than Octopus go, 6hrs off peak Vs 4hrs. Still Octopus though. Also wondering which supplier is cheaper than Octopus...

USB A USB B Not Connected

This happened to me with an unofficial cable, it sounds like a flaky/loose connection, either give it a few minutes to setup or use your phones original cable and try again. Failing that, try another phone to rule out your phone.

USB A USB B Not Connected

Use an official USB cable, the one that came with the phone should work best. Also make sure you update Android Auto via play store if an update is available. Turn on phone Bluetooth and connect to the car, plug your phone into the USB Slot (left) wait a moment, select DATA TRANSFER (Android...

    Rollercoaster road to new MG4

Tesco have recently stopped Free Charging, it's now 40p/kWh as far as I'm aware. There are BP Pulse free chargers (7kw) dotted around, not quite as practical as a free supermarket charge, but they do still exist for free. Edit: 28p-50p /kWh

    Rollercoaster road to new MG4

The only 'hot hatch' I've ever owned was a Mk5 Golf GTi, and have driven various nippy cars over the years, even a GTD, Leon Cupra, Cooper S and so on. My most recent cars have been big(ish) SUVs and estates, all diesel, all practical and with a good driving position. I have to say, and I may...

Real Cost Per Mile Of EV Driving

I noticed this when it changed to B7 Diesel, that extra bio-diesel made a whole lot of difference and dropped my overall mpg and I noticed my fuel filter benefited from a change more often than I used to do. I used to put a shot of HydraPower Diesel Blaster in every other tank, which helped...

    Rollercoaster road to new MG4

Similar story to myself in some ways.. Walked into a dealership, test drove a blue Trophy, loved it. Expected a 4 month wait but they had a grey one sat unregistered and said I could have it within 10 days or so once finance was sorted and prep was done. Safe to say I took the grey and picked...

    Very blue thing has arrived...

That's my guess also, it does wipe off with a damp cloth, I imagine the full lot needs wiping down though.

    Very blue thing has arrived...

The leather parts of our trophy appear to be covered in some form of white balm noticeable when kids getting in and out and brushing against the seats and it shows the balm up. Very unsightly.

Looks like it's all down to ads, the 'content creators' get paid for mere mortals watching the ads before/during/after their videos. If the links are used externally it messes with the ads, and the ad impressions aren't logged so they don't get their 2¢ per ad view.

    Very blue thing has arrived...

We've been getting between around 1.8-1.9 KW at the car according to iSmart. Was pleasantly surprised. Still slow compared to a dedicated charger, but will do for now.

    Motability & MG4

I think it depends on your current rates, plus the market rates are due to come down allegedly from June, I think you'd be in a better position in June to make that decision, plus there may be more options by then. Octopus are a good bet in the current climate though, with their intelligent...

Real Cost Per Mile Of EV Driving

I mean background when we're home but not cooking, but with TV on etc. Edit: Right now with no-one else home using electric it's 118w background. Edit 2: last week we used 47kwh of electric, without charging the car. Less than 7kwh per day.

Real Cost Per Mile Of EV Driving

We are a family of 4 but aren't big electricity users somehow. We don't use any electrical heating. Our gas usage is lower than average too, mostly. I think background usage according to the smart meter is around 300w/p/h electric. We can probably shift some home usage to the off-peak hours...

Real Cost Per Mile Of EV Driving

My 2p.. on Octopus standard (33p/kWh) until OHME fit our Home Charger, at which point we'll switch to Intelligent Octopus (40p/day + 10p/night) Currently getting around 4mile/kWh, which is just over 8p per mile, will reduce to around 2p per mile when on IO tariff. Our day usage will cost 20%...

    Rear Seat buckles problematic

I got these ones for £8 on Amazon, I suspect they're identical to the other ones just re'branded'. Do the job nicely. https://amzn.eu/d/8jclr9X

    State of Community check

I have to say I'm experiencing none of the issues that I've read about on these forums (and expected, because of this) so far.. but so good. Our trophy has performed amazingly all week, the drive and comfort is amazing. Impressed.

    Motability & MG4

@drivethru - their standard tarrifs are in line with the government price cap/guarantee but (location depending) their intelligent Tariff is 40p per kWh day (7p more than the cap) and 10p per kWh for 6 hours overnight - 23p per kWh cheaper than standard. If you decide to switch your supply...
