I should clarify that this was the cost of buying 3 services individually rather than buying a service plan. The service plan was about £100 more but had some add ons like courtesy car and so on.
I also got another quote for a service plan which was over £600, so it's clear there are big...
I've had MG4 service quote from an MG dealer of approx £80/£170/£80 for the three years. I believe, though have not yet confirmed, that this also renews the MG Assist.
The changes are around cyber security apparently. Models with the newly required features have a -G at the end. This is from zappi:
2.2 What’s changed with zappi
The following features have been added to all zappis to comply with the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021...
I was due to have a Zappi supplied and fitted on Monday, but my installer called today to say that because of the change in regs in December last year there's no stock of units that comply. The manufacturer Myenergi look like they're quoting a 4 week lead time on the Zappi, so it seems...
How frustrating. Really disappointing. Two obvious questions spring to mind:
1. There must be a design drawing for this part. What does the drawing show?
2. Was the WLTP test done with this air scoop in place? If not, is MG knowingly selling cars with 'design features' that would give...
If you genuinely believe the car is dangerous, please consider making a formal complaint to MG and if you don't get a response you're happy with, report to DVSA as a serious safety issue. I don't see another way to get MG to take it seriously
Would you consider making a report to the DVSA as a serious safety issue? I think doing so and informing MG would say least get them to take it seriously
I hope it all works out and the salesman keeps his promises. I suspect he will, not least because of the high demand for these cars.
It's a reminder for all of us to get the dealer to put in writing all the key promises made! I noticed mine hadn't included the 'no questions asked' cancellation...
Agreed. If it hasn't been done already I'd suggest making MG UK aware directly and if you're not 100% happy with the response then also reporting to the DVSA. If the airbag went off when driving it would be extremely serious...
That's shocking, and the fix can only come from MG itself. I don't have my car yet (January?) but I've often found that emailing the MD, and asking for a formal complaint reference, makes sure that something happens. Companies treat complaints differently because they have metrics around them!
Wouldn't they be able to check by jacking the vehicle and then checking for circularity ('runout') when they spin the tyres? That would be a very easy check for a technician to do.
My thoughts: as well as showing your dealer what other dealers have said in terms of replacement, in this situation I'd try to take the opinions out of it by asking for the official spec so you can both compare against that. That might be eg a technical drawing or just a photo of what the tray...
