    Miles/kWh

I have been trying to keep logs for some of my journeys. I have attached a graph of one set of data where I recorded the actual mileage at various stopping points vs the battery charge used to that point. You can see how linear it is (which surprised me!). You can also see that it extrapolates...

    Miles/kWh

That's pretty remarkable, Petriix. I'd love to hear of someone exceeding 300miles on a "full tank"! I wonder if anyone has logged a journey mileage starting from full charge and running the battery down to 1-2%. This is probably the most certain way of ensuring the battery charge indicator is...

    MG5 Motor and transmission noise

So Rootes cars not really bird-pullers then? :) Being honest, with a car that looks as good as the pillarless and chrome-fronted Rapier, who needs a girlfriend!! Probably bigger rear seats than the Anglia, though?? :devilish:

    Melted passenger seat

I used to work in optics/fibre optics and I remember that a sphere-lens has its focal point right up close to the lens (for parallel incident light). In the same way, the bottle of water is like a 2-D sphere (i.e. it's a cylinder) so its focal point would be very close to the surface it is...

I had forgotten but was that the screw jack that fitted into a welded-in box sections? I kept that jack with the big rotating knob which made it so easy, for many years.

    MG5 Motor and transmission noise

Well, before I mucked up the engine on mine by forgetting the antifreeze, I got hit by a car which pulled out of a parking space in a supermarket car-park. Deep gouge right down one side of my car. In the insurance claim I got more for the car (which was written off) than I paid for it years...

    Melted passenger seat

Gutted for you! Could the heated seat switch have been knocked or left on by accident to aid and abet the situation?

    Struggling Aircon

Thanks for your inputs. I'll probably just get the pressure checked at some point as that is the most likely culprit TBH. It does cool the car but I would have expected better.

Good idea. I sometimes think we are missing a lot of possible tricks like this because there is no standardised system. How often do you see a car with a headlight missing? If you had a switch which temporarily winked your headlights (not just a flash as this can means lots of things but...

    MG5 Motor and transmission noise

Seeing the manual sends shivers up my spine. I loved my Hunter (1725cc). It made a Chieftain tank seem a bit flimsy. Handbrake on the right (hand) side. 38mpg. Shame I let the engine block get cracked otherwise I'd probably still have it. Like all "classics" they are upwards of £5k now. Fair...

Hope you're right Sparky. Also hope I never have to find out :)

I don't suppose most warranties are that good when you look into the small print. That's why I chose not to read it :)

Just buy the Excite - then you won't have to worry about it :)

    Floor carpet tear

Good point. Looking at the pics in more detail, I'd say that the hard plastic part of the footrest isn't wide enough for LeoRBKs trainers the heel of which looks like it overhangs it by quite a bit. This is a criticism of the footrest design rather than of his (rather stylish) trainers :)

    MGEV community Secret Handshake?

Witty idea. Problem with any message is the driver behind will be trying to get as close as possible to read it putting them in greater danger of ploughing in the back of "the car whose brake light don't work". :)

    MGEV community Secret Handshake?

Question is.....should an MG5 driver acknowledge a ZS driver and vice versa? :)

    Forgot to close roof .oops

That's bad luck! The weather is full of localised surprises at the moment so it's an easy trap to fall into. Pity they don't autoclose when it starts to rain - but then you could inadvertently suffocate a dog or sleeping child I suppose?

Not a bad hit rate! I'm an MG5 driver and they are all EVs. How do you know that a particular ZS is electric if it doesn't have the green number plate strip? Or is the ZS only available as electric also?
