You could use a screw on IR filter that is intended for camera lenses, some of them even have docs on what wavelengths are filtered.
Failing that, you could try pointing your TV remote at the sensor and see if the lights turn off :)
It may still be worth getting a quote from the dealer, you'd be surprised I've found for certain things can be reasonable, but it can vary a lot.
At least then you'd have a price to compare to the price of the part from ebay.
Also, I'd double check that the mirror from ebay is from the trophy...
Some granny chargers come with thermal fuses in the plug so it automatically cuts out if it goes over a certain temperature.
While this can help, I also have first hand experience of 13A sockets getting hot when using a 13A extension that was in less than ideal condition with a granny charger...
I've did find Waze to be too bright at night, but after digging in the settings I was able to force dark mode, as I prefer it when it does not auto-switch.
I've not tried TomTomGo, but give Wave a try if you need to drive at night :)
It would be nice if they could offer an hear pump as an upgrade for those that don't have one, as this isn't something that could be added as a software update.
EDIT: Heat pump* :D
Around 1kg of plastic for a 3d printer is around £20, but most commonly avaliable 3d printers are quite limited in the size of objects they can print - Anything larger than 300mm in any dimension it considered tricky, but not impossible
While this is cool, I'd be tempted to keep an eye on the 12v battery voltage in the car while using non-standard software - pinging it every 30s could stop the electronics in the car from going to sleep.
I've tried both AA and Carplay and I have found Carplay to be more reliable but it isn't perfect.
I've found that very occasionally Carplay will still act up, Waze can sometime lose it's position while Apple maps will work OK. It's still hard to know if this if the fault of the car or the phone...
I would check how the reg plated are mounted to the car.
I was lucky enough to get one where the dealers used sticky pads, but even so the rear plate was done badly and was close to falling off and it would rattle.
Some unlucky people have had extra holes in the bodywork for dealers using...
Even if the return spring snaps on a carb meaning the throttle does not close, the key can still be turned to stop the engine in a emergency.
As the MG4 doesn't have a key+keyhole or start / stop button, there isn't really a way to cut the power in an emergency.
At least putting it in N is an...
I don't know if I'd trust the software after the whole getting locked in thing!
$499 is way over priced IMO, is it was less than £50 maybe, but it's something I'd hardly ever use myself.
Agreed, 300HP + RWD would be the sweet spot for me.
Double wishbone front suspension would be nice also, as there is a lot of room for it when there isn't a motor up front.
I know it's a little late now, but I'd ask the dealer in advance if the plates could be fitted with sticky pads if you are ever in the position to do this.
I really don't know what goes through the dealers mind when drilling these holes!
