I think the acceleration of the xpower crosses a line where you physically get an adrenaline rush every time, no matter how many times you do it. Like it’s unnatural for the human body to be lurched forward that fast. I know there are faster cars, but the xpower is on the other side of the line...
My dealer has booked me in for early Feb to get the dampers fitted. I don’t seem to have the issue too bad, but I’ll update later in Feb after testing it.
I thought I would need to upgrade the stereo - the stereo in the xpower i test drove seemed terrible. But for some reason the stereo / speakers of my xpower seems pretty good out of the box, I’m not planning to upgrade now
If i can paraphrase - “I don’t like the X-Power because it doesn’t achieve the technical efficiency of its stablemates and competitors”.
What ?
You buy an Xpower because its batshit crazy fast for the price, not because you are looking for an efficient vehicle …
Electricity is so much cheaper...
Right - drove on Auckland motorway yesterday. Can now confirm - definitely have this issue, doing about 109-110kph !
Amazing, its not noticeable on “b” roads. But very noticeable on smooth motorways.

This is great news. Tesla seems to have the best locations with the most reliable chargers from what ive heard. Help avoid the chances of being caught out on a long road trip
I read about the issue on the forum. Mentioned it to the dealer when I picked up the car. He seemed well aware of the issue - maybe because MG Australia has notified the dealers ? But maybe because the info is out there, and potential buyers are reading about it and wont want to buy the car...
Let me clarify -
I drive on rural roads where I live, cruising around 110km/h.
These are not well maintained flat highways.
They are rough, potholed, rural roads.
I have not noticed the issue.
But its possibly because of the rough roads and tire noise ?
Its also possible that my car simply...
Make it two …
I live on rural roads, only done about 800km, but havent noticed the issue yet. Not to say the issue isnt there - Ive just not been travelling on motorways at all yet, just mostly rough rural roads. Dealer said the parts for the fix are on order anyways… will put them in when they...
yep - dealer said it was in the post. But I must admit - I havent noticed the issue at all yet, possibly because Im mostly on rural roads. I am doing a trip to Auckland next week though, will see if I can replicate the issue, and will update once the dampers are fitted.
