    MG4 Range

I would say half my August miles were motorway speeds. Do 150 pure motorway miles at 70mph and see if you get a 4 in front of it. You'll be lucky to see better than 3.5.

    MG4 Range

Here's my latest accumulated total for August in my Trophy. 3.7 miles/kWh compares with 3.9 in June, 3.8 in May and 3.6 in July. Definitely done more motorway driving in August than in May and June but less than in July. It shows in the figures. 3.3 miles/kWh is about what I get in full motorway...

    MG4 Range

I've been driving EVs for six years and never really noticed a great difference in range with people and luggage. It's towing, roof boxes and bicycles that will affect range significantly. With regen, I'd stick to personal preference. You could drive more economically without it but you'd have...

Battery chemistry reason enough to go for the SE SR?

That amount of degradation is quite normal. There's a lot of data out there on Tesla batteries now. Degradation is typically steep in the first year and then flattens out. I tracked my last car over four years (Tesla model 3). It lost around 5-6% in the first year and was pretty flat for the...

Battery chemistry reason enough to go for the SE SR?

Did you worry about car fires when you bought a car full of a highly combustible liquid? There are now some stats on the likelihood of EVs catching fire. Guess what, it's a lot less likely than if you're sitting on a tank of petrol How Much Should You Worry About EV Fires?

Battery chemistry reason enough to go for the SE SR?

The battery chemistry is irrelevant. If you want longer range and faster charging go for the long range. There's no reason not to charge the car to 100% when you need it. Both battery types will likely outlive the car itself.

    Dragon Charging

Just come back from Pembrokeshire. They worked fine and never had any trouble getting on one. Found the app a bit buggy, but closing it then reopening it seemed to solve any issues.

    MG4 Range

Here's my latest accumulated total for July. A high proportion of motorway driving this month, often in wet and windy conditions. That explains the low 3.6 miles/kWh compared with 3.9 and 3.8 in June and May. 3.6 is still an average range of 220 miles. I've been getting anything between 3.3 and...

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Careful what you wish for. The English version is Charge your Car, so bad it has virtually disappeared. If you try going to Scotland without the Chargeplace Scotland RFID card, you will struggle. It's basically a disparate set of local authority provided chargepoints that share a single network...

    Charging across Europe

Check the Tesla map and apply 'superchargers open to all'. You'll see it's a sea of red on all routes in Germany. It's nothing like the patchy UK openings.

    MG4 Range

But the open ones are still among the cheapest even though you pay more than Tesla drivers ?‍♂️ Tesla is opening up because it wants its superchargers to be a leader and it's competing on price right across Europe.

    Charging across Europe

You'll be fine. France is better than the UK. There's been a big expansion in rapid charging, particularly at motorway services and at supermarkets.
  13. Derek25

    Charging across Europe

Probably, but check the apps first to make sure there are plenty of chargepoints you can use where you need them. It's also worth checking out Tesla superchargers. The open ones are plentiful in France and you could probably do the entire journey south on them. Cheap too with a monthly...

    LR battery efficiency.

1 kWh is1 kWh whatever the density of the battery. What you're seeing is probably variations in the battery management system's reading of the battery's capacity.

    LR battery efficiency.

Where's the evidence that more energy density gives you more miles/kWh?

Where's the evidence for getting more miles/kWh at different states of charge?

Tesla Superchargers could this be the next open to all makes I hope so

That's not just the connector. It's the car and the connector. Non-Teslas can't plug and charge on the open Tesla network.

Tesla Superchargers could this be the next open to all makes I hope so

Absolutely no chance. The EU has mandated CCS, which all European Teslas and all other European EVs use.

I've gone and done it now (road trip)

Your MG4 would easily take you to Bavaria so Sussex shouldn’t faze you.

    MG4 Range

Following my previous monthly posts, here's my average efficiency for June. Efficiency of 3.9 compares with 3.8 in May and 3.5 in April. That's an average real world range with a mix of driving of 240 miles in June. It's disappointing not to see 4 or more miles/kWh in these warmer months. I got...
