I think it was Jan 2023 that Tesla started to open up their network to other brands in the UK. The MG updates to allow compatibility started in June 2023 I think, although they may have shipped up-to-date cars with built-in compatibility earlier than that - check the MG EV June podcast ...

So my latest update is that I picked up the car from my dealer having left it there for two weeks while I was working away from home ... they "say" they have done all the relevant updates to enable supercharger access (although I can't actually test until tomorrow and will obviously report back)...

So latest update to the saga is that after multiple calls to my dealer's HQ service head and emails back down to the dealer, they have contacted MG UK and sorted out what and how to do the updates! ... I am working away for the next couple of weeks so on Saturday morning delivered teh car to...

There was a recall note for my ZS LR mk.2 issued in July (SC052) (Service Compulsory maybe as oppose to Service Advisory ?) which mentioned the CCU had to be updated - but no information on the service sheet as to why - SAIC aren't really helping any of their UK dealers by providing so little...

Not defending MG but assuming the Tesla network was 'locked' at the time of the software being written it is possible that MG wrote it so as to not take any notice of them to protect the car/system/battery ... then Tesla unlock the network afterwards but the MG software is unable to detect/work...

To be fair to @Stuart Wright there is a service update thread but it hasn't been updated for quite a while (apart from mine just now!) ... ZS EV service update log ... but maybe a 'known' software/firmware version table could be added ...

Just having SA052 applied to my 22-plate ZS LR mk.2 - is for a CCU update - issued July 23 - will try and get a copy of the bulletin for reference.

So interesting development in this story ... after my supplying dealership didn't know anything about the software updates necessary, I contacted my next closest MG dealership who informed me that there actually was a recall notice on my vehicle for a software update and they would book it in ...

And just to re-confirm the 70% that are 'open' across Europe are predominantly in mainland Europe and not the UK as we know from a couple of user's posts ... I'd guess less than half of the UK Supercharger network is currently 'open' to all ...
