    Battery heating on the MG5

A better route planner is an app that let's you put mg5 as the car then estimates range and plans charging stops.

    Battery heating on the MG5

Battery heater only works on the lr not Sr mg5. They added an optional update on the Sr designed for sub zero use. I pop it on about 15 mins before a rapid charge. When I looked comparing % to apbr on my way to a rapid once it appeared to use about 2% to heat the battery then very little (beyond...

MG5 LR not accepting charge ? Why

That's the type I use regularly and always have to hold the plug up to get it to start.

You could always use the granny charger.

MG5 LR not accepting charge ? Why

You can unlock once the charge has started and get in. It's just different for the 30 seconds after pressing start on the charger.

    Roof bars, what roof bars?

The rails only come with the exclusive, the exite can take a roof load of 75kg but you have to either use an inflatable roof rack or try and fit a clampy one.

    12V power

My guess is that it was put in ready for V2L since the face-lift has a 2.2kw V2L.

MG5 LR not accepting charge ? Why

I have had random issues trying again after a failed dc charge. I have found the for my local cps 50kw that it will start first time every time with the following: scan rfid card and wait for it to authenticate, plug in ccs, lock car and listen for cable lock, press start on machine, immediately...

The dc dc inverter is rated for 162 amps at 14v.

    12V power

The dc dc converter that tops up the 12v battery runs through a 150amp fuse so I guesstimate ~2kw from the battery terminals.

    Rear seat folding

And watch out for the little white plastic guide as it can fall out.

    Rear seat folding

A nice neat and tidy photo at a useful angle, if only I'd taken one of those before I put the seats back in.

    Rear seat folding

Slopes down a little if anything. An alternative is to remove the back rests. If you are happy to keep them in the car you don't even need tools, otherwise you have to undo one torque bolt at the bottom of the middle seat belt.

    Rear seat folding

If you pull upwards sharply on the front edge about six inches in from the car doors the clips release and it comes out.

MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

My tests of the speed were done at 350kw fastned chargers at Hamilton Palace grounds which may have helped.

MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

From memory the mk1 zs update was made for sub zero climates where it was not managing to rapid charge properly as the heat generated when charging wasn't enough to warm the battery enough to allow higher speeds. I believe it only heated the battery when temperature was lower than -10 as they...

MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

The problem with the mk1 zs and the mg5 standard range is there is no way to preheat the battery. The mg5 lr has a battery heater that you can turn on that significantly improved the rapid charge speed.

MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

Based on my experience charging the mg5 lr and the spec of the mg4 I would say 160 miles of real world range added in half an hour if you charge from 10%. This is a guess Based on me charging the mg5 lr and the difference in specification it has to the mg4 hopefully without any mistakes. I...
