Wishlist/'must haves' for next version of the ZS EV?

Regenerative braking on cruise control. Less aggressive LKA. Bigger font size in dash display. Buttons instead of touch screen.

Wishlist/'must haves' for next version of the ZS EV?

Bigger writing in the info boxes. Eg mile per kW. Tyre pressures etc. List above is for redesign of whole car. Minor facelifts possible. Major redesign would result in more expensive purchase price.

    Charger Problem

Seems to me from others' comments that EO seems to "fail to support" chargers after three years. Is this a built in obsolescence? We'll see in due course as my case has now ben registered with the Energy Ombudsman. I will update when result comes through. However, any class action evidence to...

    Charger Problem

That is the kind of info I need. As long as “You’re the only one with a problem” is spouted by the suppliers, they will just rely on us biting the bullet and buying new. I am about to go via media and then Ombudsman in order to make this more widely known. PS I am also in my 70s.

As you say. MG does not support V2H. Not sure that I would risk trying your method but if it works for you and you feel it is safe then go for it. Only hope that MG and all other manufacturers and electricity suppliers make this and V2G in the next models produced.

    Charger Problem

Not too worried about the cash aspect, mainly the principle. Ideally I would like to be placed in the situation I was in with a programmable working charger. The fault seems to stem from the cessation of software support since the there were no faults found in the charger itself.

    Charger Problem

I paid £359.00 for charger after grant. Now faced with paying between just over £400.00 to nearly £900.00. Have never mentioned full refund. That was on robf reply. How long should a charger last? That’s the figure that any refund should be based on. Still waiting for EDF response.

Forgot to mention V2H or V2G using EV batteries to support Home or Grid during peak periods when vehicle not in use and recharging when electricity is almost free. No foresight.

    Charger Problem

Fully understand that, but, if extrapolated that one has to replace your charger every six years, that adds just under £200.00 per year to the cost of using an EV. I can see the DM headlines now “HIDDEN COST OF EV OWNERSHIP” I know that this is an extreme example but that’s journalism.

Yes, compares not compress. However, using 20p per kWh is taking a higher cost than can be achieved using cheaper rate tariffs with solar and battery storage for the cheaper night rate. I am fortunate (or prescient) enough to have been able to invest in an EV, ASHP and solar panels, thus...

    Charger Problem

Thanks, that’s the route I am going down now. I contacted CAB and as you say , they were brilliant. I’m currently waiting for reply from EDF who have tried to fob me off by asking me to contact EO. However, my initial contract is with EDF. It’s been a long slog since the problem first started...

    Charger Problem

Tx for reply. Mine is an EO Mini Pro 1 which EO ceased to support on Feb 29th this year when Enelex/juucenet withdrew their software support. I was told that it would still operate as a “dumb” charger which is not ideal . However, it does not work at all and has been declared obsolete by the...

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

There are no real solutions, only better options for your individual circumstances. In my case, with no mains gas and the need to replace my 40 yr old oil boiler, leaking oil tank and weeping hot water tank, it was a no brainer. This, combined with the RHI grant of £350.00 per quarter index...

    Charger Problem

Does anyone else have an EO charger which stopped working in February this year? I am trying to find out if I am the only one who has a problem. Currently I am in dispute with EO, EDF, who have offered respectively 23% ish off a new charge point or £50.00! I cannot believe that a list price...

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

I had oil heating and experienced exactly what was stated in this video. No more large unsightly smelly oil tank. Space freed up in our small galley kitchen. When used properly, heat pumps compress very favourably with any other form of heating. While I don’t necessarily agree on compelling...

Tx for tips.Still in negotiation with EDF. They are having a rethink after I suggested that I might go to the Ombudsman. This forum is also good for advice. Might discover perhaps others have had the same problem and see how they tackled it.
