Brand new owner - some first questions please?

Hi Nick, Do not worry, you will love it the more you use it, top up at Tesco's as much as poss., I picked mine up from Luscombes Leeds, 250 mile trip home with overnight diversion to keep on slower roads to run in, got home with about 119 miles in tank and 2 miles on charge, that added makes 370...

    Ceramic coating

I got my coated with GEN3, at Luscombes, by Fazz, he wanted £300, but got it for £250, looks great, very pleased with it, but I don't think I will have the leather done again, it feels a bit stiff, good for protection, will have my new done again, but I will use leather balm on my new car on order.

On my trips to Lincolnshire, it averages at 50mpg, I think that will satisfy you Phevsam, the way I/we drive, others seem to toe it, and complain of consumption, if I get to my destination 15 mins later , so what?, All my other use is local on EV, I have solar panels, so granny charge when sun...

CONSIDERING BUYING THE HS PHEV BUT NEED SOME ADVICE

I have noticed some are finding hesitance in gear changing, I honestly do not have the foggiest idea when the gears change, or what gear I am in, whether in auto or EV mode, I just leave it to sort itself, it is so smooth on accelerating not knowing the gears change, only when I wanted to...

CONSIDERING BUYING THE HS PHEV BUT NEED SOME ADVICE

As soon as I am on the main road, I put the ACC on, even to do 30mph, then raise it when permissible using lever, using EV on all local journeys, and every so often I drive to Lincolnshire, a 330 mile round trip, with full tank and full charge, it states I have a 395 mile range, on my return I...

Car drops out of EV mode

If you have the heater on, heated by the water system, it will want to start the engine to warm the water, no heating on EV, this might be the cause of dropping out too auto

Throttle control instead of cruise control.

Kieron , Just set the cruise control so you do not go faster or slower on hills, I find that frustrating when I am travelling a speed comfortably behind a car, then it slows on the up hills, and speeds on the downs, I assume the car does not have cruise, it is more relaxing on long journey , and...

What car did you replace with your MG?

My MG HS Exclusive replaced a much loved Renault Kadjar Signiture s Nav,1.5 diesel, £20 road tax, 55-65 mpg. Expected to keep “forever” as diesel is no-no now, but that and my previous Qashqai’s were the cheapest to run I’ve had, would only change for a hybrid, Renault dragging heels with hybri...

Hi guys, it is a hot day, and I like to leave my sunroof open, on the slant, to ventilate, I like this option, I have had a neighbour phone me one morning that I left open all night, it rained a bit, but I still p[refer this delayed option, rather than closing automatically

    Design fault wiper scratches bonnet

This car does not seem to have speed limiter, never used it on previous cars anyway, I always used the cruise control, 1)makes the car more economical, watch the current MPG, 2) you never exceed the speed limit if set, using this, with the green "road" in view, then if if the car in front slows...

    Corrosion protection

Hi Jabo, if you check out the 7 year warranty, it is the bodywork which is guaranteed, for that amount of time, as other parts are not, so it is for MG to sort out if you have a problem. I said to my dealer, when he sent me a photo of my actual car, as I did a long distance deal, and when I...
