Thanks Rob for posting this link to a very informative video. It's a bit different from thumbing through a Haynes manual and scratching your head like we did 50 years ago.
Note his comment about a "monthly under car wash". Can't see that happening.
I believe the new Ford Mustang will not only use historical data for the GOM calculations but will be checking the weather forecast and terrain of your proposed journey too!
I seem to recall something in the i3 handbook saying that when applying the footbrake it uses regen first and then friction brakes as necessary. I hardly ever used the footbrake so can't remember if that was true in practice. I certainly use the footbrake now in the ZS but haven't done any...
Back in 2001 the original Honda Insight was rated at averaging 80mpg (I think). After I had got used to its characteristics I once managed to achieve 99mpg on a trip from Brighton to Bognor Regis and back along the relatively flat coast road. It was really hard work and at times there was a...
Eastbourne to Hartlepool and back around 760 miles in an i3. 10 stops in all and met some interesting, friendly people during Rapid re-charging at Holiday Inns etc. Planned numerous alternative/backup charging points but just played it by ear as required and never risked getting too low. No...
Thank you Stuart and Miles for taking the time to produce a very informative explanation of a currently hot topic. As already stated above - Excellent.
Agree Cocijo. In a nutshell what you are indicating is on a multi-stop extended journey apart from the first and last legs of that journey your realistic range is 60% (80-20%) of usable capacity between charges. So for the sake of argument nigh on 100 miles at 4miles/kWh. That's what I would aim...
I have an account with BP so they are my first go to and have used them far more than Shell & Instavolt which I voted Excellent for both as I had no problems at all. The times I have had problems with BP their help line advisors have been very helpful and either suggested nearby alternatives or...
I've been with BP Pulse ( Polar) for 5 years and never had a problem like that. In fact on a few occasions they have missed off a couple or so charges in a month.
If it's a new account maybe worth checking with BP they have not got their wires crossed with another account?
Very impressive. I can't wait until Boris lets me out and about once more so I can try to achieve that sort of efficiency. Keep us updated with your trips as the weather gets warmer.
Hi Stuart. Great video. After watching I had a play around with route planning. It's so much easier and improved since the last time I tried which admittedly is quite some time ago. I will definitely go back to using it for my next trips planned when Boris permits.
Thank you for taking the time...
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Not a good start having a failure immediately after collection. I hope the Dealer is supplying a courtesy car at the very least until yours is repaired or even offering a straight replacement?
Hopefully the stock of spare parts held in the UK for all...
ZapMap is usually pretty good in the current state of a charger but you can never be certain until you arrive. Have you watched Stuart Ws 'How to plan a route" video'? If not it's well worth viewing.
Looking at your most likely route A1/M25 I would aim for that cluster of points just north of...
I have a CYC Rapid near me that is free via Polar RFID for some odd reason? Otherwise it is high connection fee and cost/kWh for other users plus 60 minute limit. I never used it because of the advertised high cost but then found out Polar never charge me?
Last weekend they had a special offer with 15% discount so were £73.94 including delivery. Normally £86.99.
The rear door shades fitted so snugly I didn't bother with the clips as they seemed to distort the shape and I'm not sure whether they are meant for the ZS EV trim. Is it any different...
Yes they are easy to fit and look effective from the outside. However I find them a bit dark on the inside at the moment and will probably remove them until the warmer, sunnier weather when they may well come into their own.
