    New Car Collection Day!

You probably had the same thing that I got caught out by on my test drive. Intelligent speed assist only works with the ACC stalk pushed back into the 'OFF' position. If you try to change the setting in the infotainment unit to Manual or Intelligent with the ACC in the on or standby mode, , it...

    New Car Collection Day!

Well, collected, played, and back home. Plugged in (outside GO hours, I know) just to make sure the 13a plug on the extension doesn't get too hot before I move it to midnight charging... So, I have one error ("Intelligent Speed Assist Fault Consult Handbook" a couple of times. Emailed the...

MG5 Long Range difference in the boot?

Well, I now have Ernie. (Named by the wife. Something to do with the fastest milk cart in the west...) and can therefore confirm that the word 'compatible' is indeed as flexible as the boot protector itself. It fits fine, as long as s the boot floor is on the higher level and the left net is...

    First Multicharge Journey

Maybe I'm just tight, but that's exactly how I drive my ICE car. 60-65 on motorways and a gentle right foot is a good 10-15MPG difference. That's a good 20% extra miles free, and at diesel prices now that's not to be sniffed at. Let's hope its next owner will be just as kind to it... only a...

    New Car Collection Day!

Me too, but #TeamSilver Other way round though. Dealer set an appointment in the morning but I have something I can't get out of so had to move it to later... It had better be fully charged as it's a long trip home (Well, it isn't, but I might take a few detours...)

    Keyless entry - options?

    Aye!

    Short Duration Free Charges

Similar posts suggest not. I'm no expert, but the way I look at it is if that was a problem, then the repetitive small charges that KERS and the like keeps putting into your battery would be a bigger issue.

Don't you just love insurance companies?

Thing is, I'm not sure if I'm entirely for that as it's going to cost me. Selfish, I know, but the insurance companies have to make money, and the average premiums is never going to go down here. It just means that the deals won't be there (or as good) for those of us that do shop around as...

    Keyless entry - options?

Does keyless always work, or can it be disabled temporarily on the car? My current car only unlocks keylessly if it was locked that way. If you use the button on the key to lock it, it turns off keyless and needs another button press (or, god forbid, an actual key in the door!) to unlock next...

    Octopus Go Faster

Only difference is the ‘cheap’ rate as far as I can see. 4.5p/kWh for 3 hours, 5p for 4 hours, and 5.5p for 5. The idea is to smooth out the demand, so you might not get your chosen slot. Also, I had a disclaimer that go faster is a ‘trial’ or ‘beta test’ tariff (or words to that effect).

    MG ZS EV Newbie Questions

You could check that the cable isn’t loose on the PAS (AKA the speaker under the bonnet)

    Services & Service Plans

It is, and it isn’t. I have no objection to a scheduled check (and maybe software update). Just would like a little more transparency on what it is.

    Services & Service Plans

Yeah, so according to that they do nothing on the first and third services? Maybe it is just checks, but it would be nice to see that listed somewhere.

    Services & Service Plans

Hi all. Following on from a thread I've seen over on the MGEV Owners Club facebook page and a few discussions I've seen on here, I thought it might be worth pulling together people's experiences with MG5 services and service plans. One of the many savings quoted on EVs is that there are less...

    Start and Stop query ?

Hmmm. I have no MG yet and an Iphone, so probably am completely unqualified to help! however... Have you tried this setting from another Android Auto thread? https://www.mgevs.com/threads/android-auto-now-working-perfectly.2982/post-42199

    Start and Stop query ?

Right - so you want to put the car into ACC mode, sort your phone out, then put it back to 'Off' without first having to go to ready? I don't have my car yet, but scanning the manual (because that's the sort of sad person I am...) doesn't a press of the start stop button just cycle 'ACC' (some...

"80% is Enough" on a Rapid Charge Campaign!!!

Why would that be the case? I understand that the number of KwH 'provided' by the charger is more than the actual KwH put into the battery due to wastage factors (heat production etc.) Is there more 'wastage' on the last 20% of top up (and does that then apply over all charging methods), or is...

    Hypervolt installed today

I see no cable running to the unit, so I guess that comes out behind it. Did they do some nice internal routing for you, or are you one of those lucky people where the CU just happens to be on the other side of the wall to where you wanted the wall box?

    Octopus Go Faster

Yeah - we did that as well. at first glance it's easy to get blinded by the headline rate for EV charging, but you have to think of the rest of your energy costs too. For us, it worked out going to Octopus Go, but when the car arrives and the switch processes I'll have to check the usage and...
