    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

Four different things: 1. Charge plug lock: locks the charge plug into the car's port while the car is charging. Emergency release cord in the boot, in most models. 2. Charge flap lock: locks the charge flap while not charging (ie shut), normally operated via the keyfob / doors, to lock and...

    MG4 X Power Vibe/Hum 65 to 75mph

Indeed, although I think he or she will take quite a while to pop round and switch off your LKA. 😉

    Lane Assist reactivation.

I'm now doing this too... with the improved LKA update. Occasionally the car gets confused but it works as well as many other makes now. I'm conflicted about these systems, I see plenty of bad drivers with poor lane discipline who need this, at the same time such systems can never be perfect.

    Lane Assist reactivation.

I agree it is counterintuitive and poor design. It should at a minimum lock out settings from being changed before the car is in READY state.

Decision time - keep or replace?

It sounds like you are trying to justify it on financial grounds. However, it would always be cheaper in the long run to avoid finance and stick with a car for years and years. So, what's your real priority here? If you want the pleasure of a newer car, with improvements, then can you justify...

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

Buying a new EV isn't sensible from a cost point of view. Used wins every time. However, if cost isn't a priority and you want the latest and greatest, you can insulate yourself from some risks if you get a good lease or PCP deal, for a price. At least you get certainty on costs. Cars are...

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

I don't know about the Cyberster but on the MG4 the flap is openable even when stuck, the outer cover slides off and with a tool you can then operate the flap mechanism. The Cyberster might be a similar design? https://www.mgevs.com/threads/frozen-charging-port-door-flap.19472/

    Battery types?

Yes, different battery chemistries and sizes have been used for different markets in the past, eg with the MG4. Part of the reason for price differentials.

    Electroverse app on CarPlay

The CarPlay UI comes from the phone, not the car. So if CarPlay works but the Electroverse app doesn't work inside it, that's a phone/app compatibility issue - I think most people use the Electroverse app outside CarPlay, just on their phones. CarPlay versions of apps are often feature lacking...

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

Perhaps it is coming in soon then, sorry to hear you can't get it. I think this may be model specific, for buyers of the MGS5 due to be released soon. @Miles Roberts CG Have I got the wrong end of the stick?

    Number plate cloning

Perhaps it is time we replaced human readable numberplates with cryptographically secure QR codes that the police/authorities only can read?

Is this the software update we have been waiting for....

On the last podcast Miles confirmed that the general policy with MG is that new features only come with updated versions of each car, retrofitting to existing cars is very rare, except when there's a really big pain point. So a future MG4 refresh may feature this, but it is unlikely to come to...

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

Yes, it is similar for me. I'm just over 2 years into a 4 year agreement and the car is basically already at the MGFV. The good thing is I won't pay a penny more for the extra depreciation and at the end I can probably negotiate to buy the car for a lot less, but the bad news is that I won't...

Being overtaken whilst joining a motorway

It is the responsibility of anyone joining a motorway to merge safety into the left hand lane and then make sure they have adjusted to motorway speeds and have a full awareness of traffic around them before initiating any other manoeuvre. That's what I was always taught. Sweeping across the...

    Second Service

2nd service should be around £200 if you are not on a plan. Check they aren't including other things that are not required for the service and shop around at other dealers.

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

Yes, I think we are pretty close to people not bothering with any particular battery maintenance activities. Just drive and charge as you want. Similarly, can't see the point in carrying around charging cables I never use - used my Type 2 once, granny never. So I expect people won't bother...

    MGS5 Information & Reviews

What is standing out for me in the reviews vs MG4: - Faster and better range than MG4 equivalents (surprised) while retaining sporty rear-drive handling. - Much better infortainment system and wireless CarPlay / AA. - More space all round, inside and in the boot. - Finally, a way to have...

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

My LR Trophy regularly goes to 100%, no detectable range loss in 2 years / 25,000 miles. It is important not to leave it at over 80% for many days / weeks on end, otherwise charging to 100% and using it is fine, indeed recommended you do this at least monthly.

    Speeding. ?☹

Motorways and dual carriageways are 70mph. It is a dual carriageway when there's a separator between each side (hence two separate strips of tarmac, not one wide strip with opposing traffic only separated by paint markings on the road). You can indeed have a single lane dual carriageway, two...
