    Cars you’ve smoked ?

None, I don't smoke at all and if I did, wouldn't do it inside my cars! Oh, have I misunderstood? you mean childishly racing other cars? Nope, never partake in that nonsense and I've owned some of the fastest cars over the decades from Nissan 300ZX twin turbo's to Audi S8's, a host of other...

Considering swapping MG4 for an MGS5 - Test Drive Thoughts.

I always think that if MG dealers are happy to sell cars at affinity pricing, they'll also sell them for that price to anyone who can haggle properly as well, at least at ends of months where they need to make up sales targets and such. Just offer to pay the affinity price as a serious buyer and...

Considering swapping MG4 for an MGS5 - Test Drive Thoughts.

Just remember regarding Aliexpress accessories, it's almost exclusively LHD stuff on there, so whereas things like mudflaps will be fine, floor mats and other RHD specific things wont be available.

Considering swapping MG4 for an MGS5 - Test Drive Thoughts.

Haha!, yes, sorry I slip into my old ways sometimes as I'm a retired financial consultant, so I really did used to be a money saving expert! :ROFLMAO:

Considering swapping MG4 for an MGS5 - Test Drive Thoughts.

My advice is to get smart and run your ZS PCP to it's end, then get yourself a 2 year old mint condition MGS5 for half the new price. Your payments will then be low enough to use a normal low cost loan or HP and you'll own the car outright by the time you're thinking of changing again and be...

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

As above, you can have them stripped and refinished as is your choice if you're out of warranty. I'm personally changing mine to a style I prefer as I don't like them anyway, they're far too "busy" for my taste and I don't like black and/or diamond cut wheels anyway. Bright silver is always the...

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

Indeed, diamond cut wheels really are a stupid idea, you can't expect to just lacquer over raw aluminium and have it last. I look forward to the trend ending and we can get back to normally painted wheels. (preferably silver too for me!)

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

No problem! Only an issue on the later diamond cut wheels as well, the earlier, properly painted silver wheels are unlikely to have an issue, barring damage that gets left.

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

I think it's going to be an epidemic!, seems to be lots of almost no mileage cars only a handful of months old suffering this.

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

Very good to know. Hopefully it will be just a bad batch and the new ones won't get the same issue.

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

No, the expectation of the surface finish in order for it to be fit for purpose is that it will remain corrosion free and cosmetically acceptable for a reasonably expected period of time. This is most certainly well over 1 year in all cases! To clarify You would be claiming that the painted...

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

Well if MG refused the warranty after Luscombe's submitted it, MG. The dealers undertake warranty work for payment, MG have to OK that work having checked it's part of warranty cover. I doubt you'll have a problem though, as it's clearly still under warranty and the wheel finish is clearly at fault.

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

They'll have to sort them out under warranty at the age of your car, and if they do refuse, they'll lose for sure if you take it to the small claims court as they're clearly not fit for purpose.

Trophy owners, wheels, white worm corrosion warning!

White worm! So, I think this is going to be a problem for a lot of Trophy owners going forward. My car is only 4 months old, with only 1500 miles on it so far. Since purchase it's only been washed by myself using mild car wash as and when needed, which hasn't been much obviously due to the...

    Part Number for Rear Light

Part number is 0003035105 Any MG dealer will of course sell you one, don't know the likely price though. There are a few used on ebay, but prices are high. The lowest cost on there at present is this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167345557775

    New MG4 coming? (merged)

Man, that's as dull as ditch water, what a generic looking blob! I suppose the best you could say about it is it's inoffensive looking. Take the badges off and it could be from almost any Marque, or none.

    Broken rear reflector/fog light

I doubt it will cost too much new, why not just call your local dealer for a price?

MG5 PCP Lease ending later this year

Do yourself a favour and use Bilt Hamber Dynax instead, it's far superior. Lanoguard is very mediocre, just heavily promoted.

    taller tyres on MG5?

My Trophy overreads, but only very slightly, it shows 31 when doing an actual 30mph. As for our LEAF, it's hilarious, 10% overread at all speeds. I think Nissan did it on purpose so it looks like the range is better than it really is at any given (in this case fake!) speed.
