Surprised me as well and a tiny bit disappointed as i live near Bristol! I would say I have great faith in my dealership as it is an old family run village business and is only about 100 meters from my house...which I keep reminding them of!? Didn't even need to check the system when I walked...
Been into my dealer this morning. Said my white trophy ordered early November is at sea and due at Felixstowe on 7/3 so expect about three weeks from that date.
Harry, Yes that is the correct garage and I think the engineer was called Steve. Hope you get the car sorted, just to give you some light, mine has charged fine ever since it was sorted! Best wishes, Andy
Hi Andy, mine has worked ever since Wilcox sorted it but it was quite a journey to identify the problem. I would start with disconnecting the 12v and leaving for 20 minutes before reconnecting. If that doesn't sort it Wilcox may be able to advise your garage of choice what high voltage cables...
FIXED! MG advised disconnection and reconnection of certain leads linked to the HV system. Went with mechanic to Fast DC charger today and it charged, much to the mechanic and my surprise. I asked the mechanic to disclose which leads were involved to pass on, but said as on HV system would not...
Mine is back in again fyi. Leads checked and needs to be driven back to a rapid charger with their laptop plugged in again. Hope this is going to happen today. They now have another MG ZS EV that will not charge at all with no idea why not and an MG 5 that has never charged and has been in for...
Thanks for the update. I am expecting to be called back in to my dealership to have the charging control unit replace. I am hoping that considering a similar issue on another vehicle which resulted in a fix when done, will also result in a fix for my (our) issue also! Here is hoping!
Andy
Hi,
As an update the charging port has been changed, I drove to the nearest CCS DC and still not working. AC charged fine on same charger. Informed my dealership who will ask MG what they need to do next! They did say the MG5 they had in for weeks and weeks with a similar problem is now fixed...
ZS EV...Update number...well I have forgotten really!
Latest is drove car plus mechanic plus their laptop to CCS charger so he could take readings from one of the controller units whilst I attempted to charge. Reading's sent to MG. Reply from MG take off bumper test various leads, replace all...
Hi, Communication unit replaced on my ZS EV but alas issue remains so they are going back to MG again for advice. The MG5 with a similar issue was still up on a ramp with unknown cause of problem. My money is on a locking mechanism problem as a 43kwh AC locks and charges (at 7kwh) but the CCS DC...
Possibly, an AC charger such as my home one locks in to place and charges fine. Any CCS DC...nope. Car says connected but not charging, charger indicates communicating with car, then charger says charging session ended by car...immediately. CCS DC never actually locks in at any stage.
Hi, On Monday MG needed convincing it wasn't the charger at fault so sent 3 images from 3 different chargers all saying charge disconnected by vehicle which seemed to convince them the vehicle was the issue. Dealership have been advised to replace the communication unit from behind bumper now...
I live about 100 metres away from the dealership in my village. As I can charge on my home 7kw charger I was happy to try myself and stroll the few metres to say 'nope not sorted' and to carry on using whilst they get advice from MG. Not sure it is a dc pins issue as on rapid type 2 will charge...
Update - car back having had various units updated (didn't go in to details as didn't speak to mechanic I am afraid). Asked to take away and test. Still doesn't communicate with CCS charger ×2 tried, just doesn't lock in place. Images of what chargers say will now be submitted to MG to advise on...
Garage just called, definitely a problem with car, they have sent the report to MG to decide what problem is and therefore what the fix is...I will let you know resolution.
Less than rare, always charge at home. I did use when I first got the vehicle whilst awaiting home charger installation and it worked. It has had a service and software update in meantime and when I went to use on a long trip found it didn't work anymore! Vehicle is in garage at mome
nt and...
Snap, my car has exactly the same issue and i could copy your initial thread to the word! My car is booked in to the dealership on Monday to have the issue investigated, luckily my dealership is about 100 metres away! I will let you know how I get on.
