Hi Jonnymag…………I agree completely with your comment & I will now check what the Australian trading rules are. My Cyberster is the only one in my region of Queensland…according to the Dealership who have currently had my car since last Thursday 10th April,(today is Wednesday the 16th) trying to...

    Frozen Charging Port Door? (Flap)

Thanks for the tip pjmmk……I’ll keep it in mind but I actually need MG to do a modification so that all suggested fixes are not required……The Dealership still has my Cyberster for another day to check the Mod they have done…whatever that is 🤞

Thanks for the feedback & yes ReintjeWA the charger plug manual release is the same in the Cyberster……….doesnt solve the charger door not opening at the most inconvenient time when it is suggested that you disassemble the charger door in order to plug in………sorry not the answer for a A$124,000...

    Frozen Charging Port Door? (Flap)

It is not an ice or frozen flap problem for me as it NEVER snows or the temperature drop to zero C/ 32°F……..I live in the sub tropics of Queensland………The fault is currently a mystery to my local dealership and they are still trying to identify it. The very important fact is that I/we should not...

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

An update from Queensland Oz Yesterday the 21st March and the forth workshop visit to my esteemed dealership, the new analysis for my Cyberster’s charge door issue appears to be the spigot mechanism: as suggested by Mr M44LCY of Fife (MG5) The replacement part has been ordered……they already...

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

Hi, Is that ann electrically operated pin?……..because my dealership disabled the locking mechanism temporarily while waiting for the replacement solenoid but it also disabled the LED’s that surround the charging socket visually indicating appropriate state of charge. I’ll be happy if the flap...

    Granny charger cable supplied?

In Australia my Cyberster was delivered on October 29th, it came with the type 2 standard charging cable in a neat zip canvas bag with the MG logo. The length & the cable have not been tested because I have a 10.5 kW solar system with an installed 7.5kW single phase charger which is suffice. I...

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

Thank you for your comment Jackolino……certainly worth a check, which I did and the lid looks perfectly OK, however in checking all the suggestions members have kindly posted I am still of a view that locking/unlocking is likely to be a software bug…….but I have now discovered that the manual...

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

Hi, Good to know but I wonder what mechanism, as I mentioned in my earlier posts, MG China sent a replacement solenoid (mechanism) under warranty which has been fitted. However the same intermittent fault has re-emerged so it appears that it is possibly a software bug actually rather than...

Very interesting……….is this being done under the MG warranty? Because I have had the solenoid mechanism replaced by MG and I still have the problem………temporary measure is to have MG disconnect the electronic lock while they sort it out but I am still waiting

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

Yep, I checked the not very helpful Australian version manual when it first happened and I tried that ………does’t release the electronic lock though as the experts at the dealership also discovered 🤬so unless each country has different specs………So it does look like a design oversight to me 👎! I...

    MG Cyberster Charger Flap issue

Hi GTE….thanks for your input I will persevere but MG Australia don’t appear to be very savvy re the Cyberster. I sent the MG UK link to my dealership because it has a 280+ page pdf owner manual with plenty of detail that doesn’t seem to exist in oz… so they printed a copy for me & it is now...
