Yep, I think that Bjørn Nyland video in post #40 on this thread is a must watch for all Xpower owners and I'm glad I watched it when it first came out in January 2024 (when it appeared in the similar thread below) As well as highlighting the big power drop off at low SoC he also gives advice on...
If you go to 5'30" he discusses the drop off in power ... seems to be at 20% and lower that is most significant for him. Keeping it in Sport mode helped him as well I think but it was cold testing conditions !!
If your drop off is occuring at a higher % I wonder if a good 10%-100% slow AC...
Yep me too, my drive is on a slope and every so often it used to refuse to move until the seatbelt was buckled. Bit of of a pain when washing the car and just moving in and out of garage.
If it’s Santander Consumer Finance they seem to be in a bit of a state at the moment. Despite me opting to return the car and them organising a collection I have received a letter from their Head of Arrears saying I have defaulted on my balloon payment 🤣.
Like @Biccys I have penned a...
The only update I was offered for free was the service campaign SC077 which they were obliged to do after a a damming Which Report on the LKA.
Maybe you have one of the better dealers 👍
Have you tried logging in to Santander Consumer Finance and searching for this page below. If so what options do you see ?
Also try looking through your agreement carefully as somewhere hidden away on mine I found the bottom photo.
Yep me too … suggesting still a fair wait to go 🫣. I’ve been using buckets too and a cheapish battery powered jet wash from Amazon that sucks water from the buckets 👍
Well the only sensible financial option is to see your PCP contract out to the end (March ?) and select the “Return the Car” option which is your right under the contract. The finance company then come and collect your car and will save you the £1000’s in negative equity you are currently in as...
Still under a hosepipe ban here 😟.
I usually add a bit of spray on sealant as a drying aid so at least if it rains later the car has a little more protection and better beading 🙂
The AA renewal does count for a fair bit I agree 👍. Always worth checking it was renewed a week after the service too by ringing them up 👌
Always good at resale too to have full MG service record done on time.
That’s not my experience with a VW Golf Mk 8 when my car was in the dealership at its first service. All software updates were done free of charge which took two days in total with a free courtesy car.
ICE cars are bound to be more expensive servicing as there are a lot more fluids to change...
My VW ID7 EV first service is due at 2 years. Mrs G just paid £70 for her 1st service on a Corsa-e.
I do think MG are “milking it” on service costs and any other work myself. It’s probably the way the whole MG dealerships are setup (franchised ?). And even then they won’t do free software...
Haha …. I tried that when Vauxhall used to do their track day events with their (then) range of cars VXR’s etc.
Used to be a lot of fun … slalem time trials, track experience with an instructor and the above parallel parking between plastic blow up cars of course !! Plus a lap as a passenger...
Best bet I’ve found is to use them weekly by braking hard from a high speed, maybe twice even, on the lowest regeneration mode. Almost an emergency stop pressure is needed as long as it’s safe of course.
I have a nice quiet dual carriageway for doing mine 🙂👍
It already has for me 🤷♂️ . I’ve gone back to VW as despite liking my Xpower the :-
poor MG after sales.
high cost of annual servicing.
high cost and availability of parts.
long wait for booking car in for any work.
MG UK response to some issues calling them “characteristics” of the car and...
I guess time will tell where that money has been saved as more & more parts wear out 😟. That’s three people above as I count it with similar problems … thankfully still under warranty.
