    Cyberster - 1-year service

Yes, they neglected to reset the service counter. It's in the engineering menu, if you want to do it yourself, and chase down the secret sequence to get into that menu. The worry is of course what else did they overlook or forget?

    charging Cable

I don't think so. I assume that the EVSE doesn't care about balance. Though I suppose it has to be aware of the power delivered by each phase, as it has to debit the account accurately (accurate charge for the charge, so to speak).

Help - No Charging on Granny Charger

I assume you mean DC rapid charging kept you going. Did it suddenly stop AC charging, or did it never AC charge from new?

Can there ever be enough DC chargers?

Moderators can see deleted posts, and I don't see any in this thread. Any image hosting site should be ok. It's the other kinds of links, especially to web pages, that we need to be able to check easily. But image hosting sites have a terrible record of losing the images after a short time...

    Public Charging MGS5

Did you mean 11kW instead of 22kW? If you are only getting 3.4kW from a 22kW AC "charger", then you could have a 16A cable. For a car with a 7kW charger, you should have a 32A cable. Hopefully that is what was supplied. Edit: To check your cable's current capacity, see for example this post...

    Thunderstorm yet again.

    MG4 Software Update Thread

Huh. I don't drive much at night where high beam is appropriate, but the few times I have, auto high beam has worked quite well. Mine is a 2024 extended range (LR here). It may be a firmware thing; I found that most of the things people complain about with firmware are not a problem on mine...

    Slow charge port cover.

Oops, Mia Culpa! Is 19C some sort of area code then? I'll admit that I really had no idea what you meant. I'll put it back. Edit: Or is this a reference to British legislation?

    Navigation is Off-Planet

I wonder if it's doing dead reckoning for some reason, like the navigation antenna isn't connected properly. Some models had a problem that with dead reckoning turned on, the navigation would freeze and the map would not change at all. A software update fixed it, but disabling dead reckoning...

Power interrupted when brake pedal pressed after initial startup

Maybe it depends on firmware, but my MG4 extended range (LR here) starts the air conditioning as soon as "bum on seat" is detected (I always leave the HVAC on). That requires the HV battery, so the contactors are on, and the 12 V battery is being charged by the DC-DC. I can see at least 13.8 V...

    Vandalised chargers

The offenders could be caught blue-handed! It's also possible that they'll get wise to this, and discharge the pressure with something before the actual cut. But I imagine it would still be messy. I wonder how fiddly they are to install, and how UV resistant the plastic is. And how resistant...

How can I troubleshoot 2021 ZS EV not charging?

I find that opening (a) door(s) stops the charging for 10-20 seconds, then the charging resumes. If you want to wake up the charging screen, use the key fob's close door button. This won't pause charging. Yes, it senses the resistor between the proximity pilot pin and the earth pin. It also...

    Parasitic drain on 12V battery

In the MG4 at least, merely sitting on the seat turns the car on, but not yet into ready mode until/unless the brake pedal is pressed. When the car is on but not ready, the 12V battery is being charged, and HVAC is available. But the car can't be put into Drive or Reverse, so there is no chance...

Help - No Charging on Granny Charger

I wonder too. There could be intermittent electrical leakage from the heater to chassis, which might cause charging to stop. But I would have thought that if an electrical leakage was detected, the car would throw up a High Voltage Isolation fault, and not allow driving at all. Maybe the heater...

    Real world range

I'd say that the battery hasn't had a chance to balance properly yet following many weeks shipping. It won't have been balanced from the factory either.

    Porsche mobile charger with MG4

I'd say there is a 99% chance that it will work.

Will Caliban start on Monday morning?

I would think that sitting in the car would wake up as many or more computers, plus HVAC and displays, as a remote scan. But that would guarantee charging the 12V battery, assuming that the HVAC is on. But I agree with the idea of sitting in it every 2 days or so. I think that a few minutes...

    IM6 Rapid Charging

Presumably the ~150kW limit is for 400V vehicles, and 300kW for 800V vehicles. It's a lot easier to make a cable that rated at 800V than one rated for over 375A. Perhaps they were sick of complaints from 400V owners, saying "We never see over 150kW from your supposedly 300kW charger!".

    IM5 App?

Huh. Australian Nissan Leaf owners had to pay for the the 2G comms module to be replaced. As far as I know, the original 2012 Leafs can't even be updated to 4G at all.

    IM5 App?

The car apps all seem to use the cellular network to communicate. I think most, certainly MG, do this via some central server. So that's three points of potential failure, plus the car could be in a deep sleep.
