The main question raised by all this is: Why is the app icon for 'Electric Power Steering' displayed as a rocket?

Unfortunately, mine doesn't have the handle. It just displays the 50%. It does this in any state: door open/closed, discharging, etc. No amount of persuasion will allow me to move/drag it.

V2L adapter now works fine. Only question remaining is how to change the limit on the discharge screen. Mine is set to 50%, and there would seem to be no way of adjusting it.

Could I ask if having the MG4 serviced at a main dealer is necessary to maintain the 7-year warranty? If it's just pollen filters and so on, my local garage would be more than capable, I'm sure.

Agreed, it will be something that I rarely use. We do get quite a few power outages out here in the sticks, but they rarely last any length of time. However, I may be tempted to treat myself to a little hand held vacuum cleaner to use while charging. It'll save me carrying the big Dyson out...

I bought one of the eBay adaptors. Plugged it in to get a blue light on the adaptor. The charging screen on the MG4 seemed to recognise it, but when I hit 'Start Discharge', I got a message "Discharge failed - discharge cut off power is higher than . . . " etc. Just found somewhere else that...

I had a problem using the granny charger via an extension on a reel with an in-built trip. It tripped a couple of times (after a couple of hours or so). However, after unwinding the whole lead, it worked fine.

I’d be wary of charging to 100% every time. The recommendation with Xpower is to stick with 80% unless you’re planning a long trip, which keeps the battery healthy. LFP batteries don’t mind charging to 100% all the time. You’d have to look up exactly which MG4s have them.

My wife WOULD use it, but mine seems to have a fault. It’s intermittent at best. I’ve tried it with several very different phones, with no change. I should get it seen to on the warranty, but it’s too small a thing to be bothered.
