    Brand new 12V battery discharging

I didn't know the bug affected MK1's as well. What I was carrying was an SLA booster pack, intended for cranking ICE's. It was simply to hand and free. I agree it has more oomph than needed for an EV, but I'm not aware of EV "starters" being available.

    Brand new 12V battery discharging

They didn't. The whole business was slightly woolly, which I'm sure won't satisfy some on here. ;)That's why I was less than dogmatic. It's a 2022, Mk2 Trophy LR, delivered in October 2022. All was fine with it, no problems with the 12V battery, or anything else, until August 2023. We made a...

    Brand new 12V battery discharging

This is going to sound strange. There is/was a bug in the ZS software which causes the DAB radio to continue to search for a "missing" DAB channel even when the car is off. Which drains the battery. I had this happen to me after a trip from Swansea to the Midlands, when the radio ended up...

VOICE COMMANDS MG ZS EV TROPHY 2024

Thanks, both. I must admit that eBay wouldn't have been my first port of call, but I'll check it out.

VOICE COMMANDS MG ZS EV TROPHY 2024

Slight hijack of the thread here. How do I tell if my car has V2L? It's a October 2022 LR Trophy. I believe it should have but some of the comments in this thread started me wondering. (I know I can't connect to the house wiring, but there's usefulness short of that.) That leads onto is there...

    ZS not charging

The OP in fact said that it did work at "some public chargers, so it's not all", hence my concern that they could run into grief. There's a world of difference between not charging at any public charger at all, which is a critical failing, and having intermittent problems at some, which is an...

    ZS not charging

I'm a bit surprised that the discussion has dived immediately into equipment failures, warranties and consumer rights, without any suggestions of less extreme and difficult to follow routes to try first. It's not especially unusual for cars to fail to connect to chargepoints. It's better now...

    Charging away from home

Great! You're not a "charging virgin" any more. The world is now officially your oyster!

    Charging away from home

I don't think anyone's stealing anything. NT has free (slow) chargepoints all over the place. They list them on their website!

    Charging away from home

I should have answered the other part of your query. We've had two ZS's, for a total of a little over four years. Now on a Trophy LR. We're based in Swansea, travel regularly to the Midlands to see our son & his family, have been all over Wales, east to East Anglia, north as far as Perth and...

    Charging away from home

For what it's worth, I think arriving home with 12 miles spare is cutting it too fine. As long as your driving style is reasonable constant and you keep an eye on what's happening, you'll probably get away with it, perhaps for a long time. But one of these days, you'll run into a road that's...

    12V Battery replacement?

Do you use the DAB radio? Somewhere on here is a thread about a bug when the radio is left tuned to station it can't find. The radio stays on searching, even while the car is off. I had huger problems a while ago, and I think that may have been the cause. I had tuned to a South Wales station...

MG ZS newbie- hit and miss- is it me?

I'm guessing you mean 2.7 and 2.9 bar. That's more or less spot on - they are supposed to be at 2.8 bar (41 psi) when cold. I suspect the major contributor to your range is the 30mph average speed. Even in Wales, that's low for all but very local journeys. And we have hills, in a way Berkshire...

MG ZS newbie- hit and miss- is it me?

Although I share your doubt about achieving 326 miles, I must admit to have been pleasantly surprised by the GOM's accuracy on our Trophy LR. Better than the Mk I, but perhaps that's because the extra range lets variations be smoothed out. On at least one occasion when 316 was reported on our...

MG ZS newbie- hit and miss- is it me?

We're on our second ZSEV - traded the Mk I in for a Trophy LR to get the extra range. Happy with both of them. Took the Mk I to the Dordogne and the Mk II has been to Cognac. Have you driven an EV before? If not there are a few things to remember for good range. Pump your tyres up. If they are...

    Problem using the Speed Limiter

@gus - Thanks. I had a feeling that was the case. Blast.. @Gadget Geek - You're right obviously. But it's not quite the same functionality and I have to admit to a certain reluctance to using ACC in urban traffic. There's no chance my wife will! There's not been a problem, but there've been a...

    Problem using the Speed Limiter

Hi all, I have a 2022 ZSEV Trophy LR I have never used the Speed Limiter. However a run-in with a gentleman in uniform carrying a speed gun and the introduction of the widespread 20mph limit here in Wales has caused me to investigate. So, I enabled the Speed Limiter in the menu system, then...

    Low voltage battery discharging

As the OP, I thought I'd update my situation. As I said upthread, I took the car to our dealers, but they couldn't find anything wrong. That was a Wednesday. On the Friday, we had a 12V battery warning again. So I took it to the dealer again, as we were off on holiday on the Saturday. The...

    12v battery and Noco booster

I'd echo this. We had our ZS Trophy LR "die" three days after we arrived on holiday in North Devon ten days ago. Keyless entry was dead, so we had to use the emergency key, to gain entry, then a booster pack to start the car. There was no problem visible on the dash, but because I had spotted...
