    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

I don't doubt it, but it's the way things are and I just wanted it done.

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

They told me they would just charge for labour so cost would depend how long it took them (estimate was 'up to an hour'). In the end it took half an hour.

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Sorry, I had a good look but couldn't see any numbers without taking the whole engine bay cover off which I couldn't be @rsed to do. Anyway it all got done yesterday successfully, and no surprise I got charged for the technician's time which came to about 70 quid, so not bad to have the peace...

    Tesla Supercharger Issue MG5 LR

Booked my pre-facelift 22 MG5 in for next month - 3 year service & MOT. I asked about the update and even said that if it couldn't be done under warranty I'd pay for it (after all, it's not the dealer's fault and life's too short to spend time arguing the toss). After the receptionist checked...

CD Player for our new 2024 MG4 Luxury

CDs have objectively better sound quality than MP3s, so it's reasonable to prefer them. However, you can rip the native .wav format files off CDs and play them directly with most (probably any) pc or android media player; the only problem is they take up more space, but with memory sizes...

    Problems with granny lead

Have you looked on the back? My MG5 one has a chart telling you what all the light combinations mean.

Do I really need an 'proper' EV charger?

I'm just coming up to 3 years of EV ownership and I've just used the granny charger. I had intended to get a proper charger, but soon realised I didn't need one.

Parking ticket by text - convincing scam

Personally I wouldn't trust a parking penalty demand that came by phone. Once you entered your registration, a scammer could theoretically find out where the car was registered and tailor the location of the 'offence' to suit. Check out the number that the text came from on 'who called me' and...

EV opposition in the media is ramping up

Don't worry about it. Trains succeeded despite media hysteria : - https://www.historyskills.com/classroom/year-9/steam-train-fears/

    Free Energy

Car charging, solar battery charging. And if I had anything else to plug in, I would. No washing to do, no drying ready. I'd usually be running off the battery at this time of day, so hopefully mostly free.

    Service costs

I don't know, but I would guess it's the actual mileage at the point of the service.

    Service costs

Ah yes, should have remembered to say that I got a 'low mileage' service price. The normal one was nowhere near what you've been quoted though.

My 2nd service was under £100 with home pick up and drop off. Those guys are extracting the pee.

New Ultra Rapid chargers in shopping centre car park

This morning, as we were returning home from Sainsburys at Washington Galleries shopping centre, I noticed a new signpost pointing to 'UltraRapid EV charging'. Naturally I followed and found this: - 8 charging bays, all empty at Friday lunchtime. According to ZapMap these are 200kW chargers...

Impact of KERS on tyre wear

Yeah, it does depend a lot on the driver. Personally, after decades driving petrol cars I find I can't get out of the instinctive reaction of taking my foot off the throttle when the traffic slows down significantly up ahead (which it inevitably does with the crowding on the roads these days)...

Drink / Drive over the limit

The trick is they aren't doing you for drink driving. It would be drunk in charge, which is a separate offence. Like it or not, that's the law as it stands.
