Many thanks. Does it matter which charger I go for? Are they all a similar price?

    Best value charger with Octopus

Go for a Zappi, Ohme or Wallbox charger, that will allow you to go onto Intelligent Octopus GO at 7.5p per kWh making you running costs around 1.5p per mile for fuel or the equivalent of 481 mpg on a diesel car. IOG also gives you the same 7.5p for your household energy for 6 hours 23:30 - 05:30...

    Octopus and Project EV chargers

There is also Wallbox that is compatible too. No, thats not how it works. Octopus offer a very low price &.5p off peak for a guaranteed 6 hours overnight. They have to be able to control the charging either starting / stopping or adjusting charge rate so they can balance the grid to match their...

    This is rather alarming news

I don't see anything that looks like a wallbox charger in the photograph. I wonder if it was a granny charger and the socket overheated. Oh and re electricians, they do have to certify their work and they are held responsible for any issues that come up through a bad installation, so they do a...

    Zappi installation with CU

We have a Zappi. Cost us £999 for the unit and installation, which included, a separate consumer unit. It's absolutely brilliant. Couldn't be more pleased. We have solar panels and batteries and the car is costing next to nothing to charge, now its summer.

    OHME Red lights error

...grid drops during off peak the voltage tends to rise, unfortunately that's when you want the charger to work. I have this problem but on a Wallbox Pulsar Max charger. The house is in a rural area located right next to the transformer and I'm measuring typically 252V line input, the way to...

No Fast charge from my 10 year old installation charge point

...If your cable going to the MG is rated at 16 amps you will see a lower charge rate than the cable for the leaf id that was rated at 32 amps (just an example and it may no be the case). The cables have a resistor installed that tells the wallbox what it's rating is. What charge rates do you see?

Tesla Opening Up Supercharger Network - A BAD Idea

A few weeks ago when I was driving a Model Y doing some survey work, we covered around 180 miles per shift and charged at the end of each shift, rarely did it take much more than 30 minutes to be back at 80%. Great setup for sure. You will enjoy the convenience of your wallbox.

    Which at home charger?

No problem at all, there 's a lot of rubbish online about all aspects of EV's. When I first got my EV I designed, built and used my own wallbox, it was a very steep learning curve but interesting project.

    Which at home charger?

Thank you so much for the clarification, because I was worried that I can damage my battery. Why do they write this rubbish is beyond me. Thank you so much once again.

    Which at home charger?

Hi Edilvise, what you read is complete tosh and really shouldnt be spread around online :). The wallbox or granny charger as they are called are not chargers at all. They're EVSE: Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment. These AC units plug into domestic supplies and connect to the car. There is a...

    EV tariffs

Use a compatible wallbox instead and then the car doesnt matter. Intelligent Octopus GO is 7.5p for 6 hours (23:30 to 05:30) plus additional times under Octopus control. Currently Zappi, Ohme and Wallbox are the compatible chargers.

    Wallbox customer service escalation

Hhmmm, ( somewhat off topic but...) maybe time to try this with the MG4 saggy undertray debacle ? ? ( apologies) A CEO born in 1985 ? But surely 12 is too young to be a CEO ? I'm feeling sooooo oooold ?

    Question about setting up OIG

Sorry my misunderstanding, I assumed you had an Ohme wallbox not myenegi so I can't help as much, but with my set up yes if the car is set to stop at 80% it will regardless of what you've asked the chargers to do

    Which at home charger?

...Intelligent works by Octopus controlling the schedule (additional times to the 23:30 - 05:30 window) either by talking to your EV or the wallbox. Octopus have done an amazing development but need the co operation of other manufacturers to make work with the third party products, car...

    Zappi installation with CU

Myenergi have added extra protection to be fitted with a Zappi installation. It has it all built in but they won't go out to warranty repairs with it.

    Zappi installation with CU

I bought a Zappi which arrived today and contacted my electrician to let him know we decided to go with that over a Wallbox. He said that he did some research and we will have to have a separate consumer unit added to drive the charger, due to the need for a surge protection device. Quoted an...

    Which at home charger?

I wasn't sure they are still available. Thanks for the info. I think it's called Octopus Go and the off peak is 9p/kWh. I believe the way Octopus intelligent go works is that either the charger or the car needs to be compatible with their telling it when to charge. I believe that the ID3 is a...

    Which at home charger?

MyEnergi Zappi I believe Wallbox are also compatible, your list seems to be the ones Octopus can supply. Or IF theyre going to link with Rolec. It would make sense to make the links with the largest numbers first, more bang per buck. Fingers crossed, given that Givenergy already have some...
