MG4 - Is the QUBEV charger compatible with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff for an MG4

No Only Ohme, Zappi and Wallbox at the moment but more 'may' come online at some point. I have the Zappi and it works very well.

MG4 - Is the QUBEV charger compatible with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff for an MG4

...Octopus Pro tariff. The Octopus website shows that with an MG4 the only chargers compatible with the Intelligent Go tariff are the Ohme and Wallbox Pulsar chargers. Have any of you an MG4 and the Intelligent Go tariff using a charger different than the two brands mentioned above? I was...

    Which at home charger?

That’s the main reason why I bought a basic simple charger which is totally independent and more importantly it didn’t cost me £1000 and works fine on scheduled charging which the car provides.happy days.????

    Which at home charger?

...keep this mind, in couple of years time they may well do the same to the Hive charger network. I would suggest anyone looking for a EV wallbox should choose one that is capable of operating without connection to WiFi / Phone Line / Internet i.e. completely stand alone. The unit may also...

    Which at home charger?

BG should be paying you for putting up with their dreadful customer service and poor quality EVSE offerings (Hive). Avoid at all costs, plenty of others around and one of the best being Octopus Intelligent GO, you need a Wallbox, Ohme, or MyEnergi (Zappi) EVSE unit to work with it.

    Upgrade of house main fuse

I am on a looped electricity supply. I (and my neighbour) originally had 60amp cutouts. I was told there was no issue running my Wallbox, but subsequently, my neighbour declined having their driveway dug up to have a new service connected. I don’t blame them, btw. I used my 4 hour cheap window...

    Upgrade of house main fuse

I guess something like this would provide some security? (We are getting a Wallbox installed)...

    Which at home charger?

Thank you, there seems to be so much to learn... I was going to get solar panels but keep delaying it for various reasons... I guess I should just chose the cheapest wall charger and a separate provider/tariff unless there is a good package deal available, and somewhere down the line make sure...

    Which at home charger?

Intelligent Octopus GO currently works with MyEnergi, Ohme and Wallbox EVSE (chargers) and many compatible EV's. MyEnergi Zappi is often the preferred choice due to its excellent solar integration, it works co-operatively with Solar PV, Energy Diverter etc with the excellent and easy to use APP...

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

The Zappi sounds like a flexible device, I did see an installer was having issues with warranty claims with them where they changed installation requirements after the item was installed and refused the claim as it didn't meet their 'current' requirements. I think to receive FiT and export...

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

...ways eg top up the solar by 1.5 kW from the grid or add from the grid to make the total 3 kW, whatever you want really, it's a very flexible wallbox with most conditions catered for. Yep but you could be getting your 20p FiT payment plus 15p export and then charging via IOG at 7.5p. You...

Circular reasoning (Rolfe's solar energy system)

100% spot on. Using a wallbox is well worth the money for the convenience alone IMHO. No it wouldnt, it would reduced charge level down and follow the export amount. I think the minimum on AC charging is 1.4kW but it will modulate all the way up to 7.2 kW as the panels produce etc. Only if...

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

We use Octopus with a Wallbox charger and works really well, only 7.5p overnight. My experience with BG has always been regrettable and would never use them again.

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

Just buy the wallbox . You can even get it on finance like I did.

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

Zappi is the first EVSE that integrated with solar, power diverter etc. It is a premium price product though but does what it says on the tin. Ohme and Wallbox both work with OIG but with varying success when Solar PV or battery is in the mix.

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

Just be careful with your choice wallbox if you already have or are likely to get a battery or Solar PV system, integration of EVSE isnt straight forward if the EVSE unit isnt solar friendly, at times they dont work well together.

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

...and told them we were leaving unless they installed a new smart meter, they’re coming next week ? I think we have decided to go with a Wallbox installation, seems cheaper to buy the box and have a qualified local electrician fit it, over getting some generic one fee fits all company from the...

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

I did not know this!! Thanks for the info.

    BG or Octopus EV tariff

...why on earth anyone would want to use BG and Hive who have a dreadful reputation on all fronts and not the most competitive price wise? or wallbox or a compatible car from a huge list of EV's. From Octopus's point of view it's the manufacturers giving access to API's that is restricting the...
