Please post here the name and address of a dealership who has applied the Tesla supercharger update for free.

As the previous post went off topic, please use this thread for listing those dealers who do the update for free. This will help anyone who is in range of one of those dealers to get the update. Also, listing your model of MG may be helpful.

    EV adoption ramping up.

I thought I'd start a positive thread as a counter to the EV opposition thread. Time for some positive stories. :) https://www.burnham-on-sea.com/news/somerset-polices-electric-vehicle-fleet-leading-the-way-in-journey-to-zero-emissions/...

    Charging stations in Google Maps

Hi everyone, Just thought I'd mention this in case any Android Auto users didn't know about it. It's in Search, Categories, Charging Stations, and here's how it works: Yesterday, like Bilbo Baggins, I had an unexpected journey and decided to drive it as I would an ICE car without planning it...

    Electricity tariff calculator

I've put together a spreadsheet to try and compare tariffs with your actual annual usage. I'm no expert on spreadsheets and it's been a bit of trial and error, but it seems to work. Give it a try and let me know. Instructions: The orange bar at the top is for your current provider, which will...

Avon & Somerset police dipping their toe in the EV waters.

Saw this police car this morning pulled up opposite our house. I've seen it about for a couple of months now but never managed to get a photo. And yes, that's the front of my ZS in the foreground. :) Has anyone else seen emergency service EV's?

Can't afford a Zappi? Turn your granny charger into a solar charger.

Hi everyone, As the title suggests, I already have a home charger, a Pod-Point which came free with my first EV. I have solar panels on the roof and a variable current granny charger which I use to syphon off any excess generation. For this, I have to keep an eye on the weather and use the...

    Energy price changes in April

Hi there folks. I had an email from EDF last week telling me the prices I pay will be changing. So I set out trying to work out who would be the cheapest for me. With solar and a 8kWh battery, 95% of my electricity is on off peak prices. I found this comparison on Which...

Revenge of the EV's (Something to make you smile)

Driving out of the Tesco store in Weston super Mare when I saw this dark grey Tesla Model 3. Apparently . . . E.V-ing? an I.C.E "charging" space. :) (I think the lady was waiting to move forward to the tyre compressor which was in use. But it made me smile)

MG ZS EV Android Auto . . . Woah! This is new.

Switched on the car this morning and this is what I saw. Anyone else had this multi window screen? I kinda like it. I'm wondering if it's connected to the map update I did a couple of days ago or if it's actually an over-the-air update to the infotainment screen.

Text and email message from the car.

This morning, I tried to lock the car when the door wasn't shut properly and the alarm went off. I unlocked, shut door, and locked again and the alarm stopped. I then got a very helpfull text and email to say "The abnormal invasion into your vehicle (***878) has triggered an alarm on 01-02-2023...

A difficult journey highlights issues with UK public charging infrastructure.

Firstly, sorry this is a bit of a long one. I would like to start by saying I love driving EV’s (I’m on my third one now) and would not go back to fossils. This is my experience on Sunday of driving to London and back and the problems I encountered. (You can skip to my thoughts at the end if...

2 long journeys coming up. ABRP vs real world performance.

So I've got my first long trip this coming Tuesday and I thought I would first share my plan using ABRP and then post the real world experience afterwards. Set off from Weston super Mare up the M5 motorway with 100% charge. 1 hour 19 mins later, arrive at 50kW Pod-Point charger at Lidl...

    Public charger price list

Hi everyone. I've got a couple of road trips this month and have been planning my journeys on ABRP and Zap-Map when I realised that the prices at the charging stops varied wildly from network to network. So I visited The 15 Best Electric Car Charging Companies: A Round Up of UK Public Charging...

You can still get a free Pod-Point charge.

I parked up at Tesco this morning while Her Indoors was doing some shopping. I plugged into the Pod-Point and went into the store to grab a few things. Came back out and sat in the car to watch a video while I waited for Her Indoors to finish shopping. After 2% of charge delivered over 15...

Getting rid of scuff marks on black plastic trim

Hi everyone. I thought I'd share this discovery with you of how to get rid of those annoying scuff marks which won't go away with dash cleaner. Use a dab of liquid shoe polish on a cloth and then gently rub it in. It looks like it's just come from the showroom. :)
