Mine definitely is more likely to forget it after a charge to 100%, but every now and then also just randomly loses the setting I suspect after a top-up charge. A relatively minor issue, but actually drives me crazy as in wet/slippery road conditions I often set the drive mode to 'Snow' ... so...

Do you need to upgrade to fix any specific issue? I’d say if you’re not experiencing problems then maybe don’t bother with the firmware update. ChargeHQ is working perfectly with new firmware 1.1.2.7.6 for me, but it didn’t bring any new functionality when I upgraded the firmware.

Wired CarPlay will work with your phone locked, but you need to allow it in Settings. Depending on what model iPhone you have it’ll be under either “Touch ID & Passcode” or “Face ID & Passcode”, and you need to enable “Accessories” under “Allow Access When Locked” or “General” then “CarPlay”...
