    Ohme Charging

Apart from the fact that everyone agreed to doing exactly that as part of the Ts&Cs when joining the tariff. And not reading what you have signed up to is not an excuse either. Octopus are making changes to how IOG works due to the amount of gaming/abuse, which leaving set to way more charge...

    Ohme Charging

No it won't. As 23:30-05:30 is completely irrelevant in respect of charging. And Octopus have had the price cap setting removed from the Ohme app so that people actually start using the tariff as it is designed to be used rather than a dumb TOU tariff like Go.

    Ohme Charging

Oh dear .... How are Octopus supposed to Intelligently map a charge session at the best times to help balance the grid etc. if you ask for 80% of your battery capacity when you only require 5%? It is fundamental to how IOG works that you set to a reasonable degree of accuracy how much charge...

    Ohme Charging

With the Ohme you are setting how many % to ADD to the car - it even says that clearly in the Ohme app 'Charge to Add +xx%'. So you set it to ADD 60% charge. It is at best a +/-5% accuracy due to Ohme estimating the charge losses so you don't end up short of charge. Charge losses will vary by...

    MG4 calibration advice

A recalibration is plug in to the computer and perform the calibration procedure. If the car was booked in for 'ACC isn't working after I hit a deer' then no doubt it would have resulted in a diagnostic fee, a calibration fee, then a phone call to say it is going to cost you more as we need to...

    MG4 calibration advice

Unless I am misreading this, you booked in for a recalibration based on what an independent garage told you was the issue. The dealer attempted to recalibrate, but it won't, because the radar unit is either broken or misaligned due to accident damage. It seems that they have fulfilled the work...

ACC doesn't always recognise cyclists as being in the same lane

Where there are motorcyclists and the same thing happens with them if they are on the very inside or outside of a lane.

ACC doesn't always recognise cyclists as being in the same lane

Mmm - so don't use it on a motorway then? The same issue occurs with motorcyclists who hog the very outside or inside of a lane - ACC can falsely place them in an adjacent lane.

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

Some people don't have batteries so do it in order to cook their tea at off peak. Or run their ASHP. Or heat the hot tub. Or have a shower. Or run the tumble dryer. Some with batteries are running low by late afternoon so do it to get a cheap top up. They may not have solar etc or it's winter...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

It would, but Ohme owners in my experience of the 6.5k in the FB group tend to set reasonably accurately how much they actually need. This whole thing exploded when Zappi was integrated as the users did no tbehave the same as the Ohme users who were used to an app where you specified how much...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

The billing is different. With Zappi/Wallbox, Octopus bill all the allocated charge slots at off peak, regardless of if the car is actively charging or not. They don't seem to utilise the telemetry from the Zappi of when charging ACTUALLY took place to determine if it was off-peak. Octopus are...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

In short, yes. Ohme have a much more mature charging app though in terms of specifying how much you need in %, and in some cases linked to the car API so is specifying a charge to xx% exactly the same as a vehicle integration. There are loopholes with the Ohme integration though. Like no...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

Needing 80kWh every day? That's about 240 miles. So 1500 miles per week? 75k miles pa? That would fall foul of acceptable use of the tariff. If they did need that much. Or did you mean scheduling 80kWh per day regardless of how much they actually need? Which takes us all the way back to the...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

I agree. Octopus could do a much better job of communicating how to use, and the limitations of 11am end time, the fact it is an overnight EV tariff etc. Most of this information is available, but in different sources - the requirement to specify how much charge is in the Ts&C's. The...

Intelligent Octopus Go works like a dream.

That sounds to me like you are stating Octopus are stating to leave set at Add 100% But the i3 was the BMW EV integration with a charge TO target and a vehicle API connection so knows the SoC and therefore how much charge to schedule (when it works, which is outside of the users control), not...
