If I was doing part-ex then that's true having a reversing camera is a plus point. But when doing a PCP hand back, would they say I've modified the car and demand a restoration fee?
My Ioniq PHEV had it but you first had to turn the feature on by pressing a button. So to start the car you had the Start button then Auto Hold then brake and into drive.
It isn't inherently unsafe. I have used it for 3 years without issue but it is from a cerified EV charger plug.
Extension leads aren't ideal but as you say you can turn down the current to mitigate the risk. The car can do 6A or 8A even 8A steps down any risk considerably. Keep in mind that...
The results from that camera look excellent. But installation looks to be a nightmare. I am also vary wary of installing something that needs holes drilled when it is quite likely I'll be handing the car back at the end of PCP; if I was likely to part-ex instead it wouldn't matter.
Thanks for that. Yes reading about it, it does seem like a wheel balancing issue. At least if the garage isn't interested it's not too difficult to get someone else to do it - just a bit of a faff.
Just got my car back from its first service.
I did a 5 min drive on the motorway on the way back. There was noticeably a vibration going through the steering wheel once I got above 65mph. At lower speeds there isn't anything noticeable at all.
During the service they did have the wheels off...
Same here. I think it is one of those cases of them listening to people complaining about it not going up in 1mph and not taking into account people who preferred it the other way.
In previous cars 1mph was best because the speedo wasn't accurate. So I would set it to 32mph, 73mph etc. but in...
Just because you were charging doesn't necessarily mean the time limits don't apply to you.
IME the time limits very much do unless there's a mechanism to register your number plate.
My SE LR was into Arnold Clark today for its first service. They did SC077. But the software remains at R21.
The only other thing I've noticed is the cruise control goes up and down by single mph values instead of by 5mph. Which is annoying.
Actually find it somewhat annoying that I have a 2024 MG4 SE that doesn't have a reversing camera, but the ones being made now do.
I did know that buying the car but found it's absence to be more of an issue than I had hoped and had to get an aftermarket camera that attaches to my number...
As it goes I probably wouldn't buy another MG4 but that doesn't mean I regret the one I have as there was not and still isn't anything in a comparible price bracket. The nearest equivalent I would be happy with is the Kia EV3 and that is 35k
I could be tempeted by a refreshed version however
The thing with the MG4 is it's a budget car built to a price. So of course it's going to be deficient in some ways that other cars that cost more aren't.
Of course the trick is to find something better without paying more.
For me ECO setting on the climate just ends up with all the windows steaming up. That was when it was below zero outside. It might be better in summer.
