Had mine serviced at two different dealers. Booked into Arnold Clark for third service. They couldn't see any records for my car at all. Will stick with stamped receipts!
That's good helpful information.
For MG5-LR (21&22 plate pre facelift ) the following comments may help would be IO users.
After a few nights charging with IO ( IO connected to Myenergi-Zappi2, not directly to the MG5 LR ) I now know , for sure, that the percentage charge requested in the...
tsedge, I agree that the Octopus Go is easier and more straighforward. But the lure of having an extended duration from 11.30pm to 5.30am and a lower rate too is just so appealing for a miser like me. ( OMG that 7.5p gets be so excited !! ) Means that I flip on appliances just before bedtime...
Aha ! got it sussed. After a long call to Octopus yesterday, it turns out that the zappi should be set to "Fast", which is counter-intuitive. What happens then, is that IO connects to the Zappi, starts charging for a few seconds then switches the zappi to "ECO+". IO then lowers and raises the...
For my MG5 LR ( 21 plate ) I set Zappi to "Eco+", with all Myenergi schedules having been deleted and boost/schedule set to "manual". Car plugged in. Octopus created a charging schedule so it all seemed like it was going to be okay but no charge was sent to car overnight. At 9am this morning it...
As if the weather was'nt sufficienty depressing. I'm going to get two big logs and 4 stone wheels and make a car just like Fred & Barney have in The Flintstones. May even aspire to the SE LUX model with real pteradon leather. No doubt I'll just have the thing built and some kind bright spark...
That faint ticking is probably the air conditioning and/or heater. At first I thought it was the fan, but it's not related to fan speed and is still there with the fan set to minimum. If I move the temperature control up and down I hear hear the ticking come and go as the target temperature...
Just spent 3 hours 45ft up a sycamore tree. Turns out that little button on my LR is the ejector seat. Couldn't resist pressing it. What will they think of next.
Goldilocks: I was amazed to get 4.3 yesterday over a 80 mile mixed drive. No aircon, no heating. Just
normal driving in my Mg5LR. So, when the weather's not too hot, not too cold, no rain that seems best for economy. Very pleased.
Great write up. Go reds go! Come on ye reds!?. Amazing how easily the Mg5 eats the cairn o mount. 12 to 15% gradients?. Don't even notice them now. My old multi litre jeep struggled there while spewing soot around !?
Always pleased to entertain and edify. Yes, and sometimes used in a combo : "Jings! Crivens! Help ma boab!'". Unless south of the border in which case the equivalent would be "Oh, I say!".
Example : "My 4.4 litre Diesel Rangerover does about 12 to the gallon round the town". Responder ...
Crivens that's really good! Interestingly, 24% of battery with usable of 57kwh is about 13.7kwh which works out at 4.4m/kwh ( 60/13.7 ) which is still excellent. So I wonder how accurate the % used display is. Was that without aircon or heating and maybe travelling at 60 ish on motorway/A...
Geo68, do you have, or are you in a position to have a fast charger installed at your home? Not an option if your on the 17th floor of course. The cable would be too long!. Seriously though, it's usually much much cheaper to charge from home.
Probably not dangerous at all. The AA guy would'nt do anything daft like using the wrong nuts and he'd have secured the wheel properly with or without spigot rings. I think issues would typically only arise where maybe someone buys an old wheel of fleabay without the right knowledge and uses...
Yes, these old characters made life interesting. We had a local mechanic "Dirty Davy" who used to make cut-n-shuts to order and had a mountain of the proper old McEwans beercans which he used to fix rusty cills and bond bits of car together. I had a mini, or rather two half minis ( now that's...
Agreed. Spigot rings do not transfer any load. If they do it's minimal. They only help centre the wheel during installation. Many are plastic, but even the aluminium ones are relatively soft and not capable of transmitting any reasonable load into the hub. The wheel hub spigot is itself not...
