I heard last night from my local dealer that the mgs5 ( b class suv) is going to be followed up by a "full sized, all electric suv" later this year.
Anyone else heard this rumour?
shame, i was hoping for an ER on launch otherwise i might be temped elsewhere.
With many other marques releasing larger batteries this year (the Peugeot 99kWh as an example) i really was hoping for a 350+mile range in at least one of the models
I hope when it gets over here they bring out a bigger battery version.
If they do it would be ideal for my needs, all I wanted was a mg5 with rear wheel drive and a 70+kwh battery at a reasonable price point
Here's hoping!
i even went to the effort of removing the engine cover on the weekend to see if i could lubricate the rear of the pin, but couldnt find anyway to get to the other side of the charge port without going to the effort of removing the bumper
on mine, i have held off gluing the magnets on - i have found a workaround for mine atleast.
if i pull the pin manually (once the flap is open) by hand to the full extent where the pin can come out to, then when i push the flap closed it "clicks" into place (does need a firm shove to click)...
I'm going to try an adaptation of the Padaung post above, but with magnets, as these are cheap at the moment. No idea if it will work but I will report back!

looks like mine has succumbed to this same problem where it wont shut / latch closed properly so looks like ill be heading into the shed this coming weekend to find a DIY solution - shame really
they did cover mine under warranty luckly enough and yes they did replace the whole seat mounting.
i thought they were going to change the whole seat, but seems the metalwork comes off the seat itself and they changed all that - took about 3 hours though
AHH i see. I think that would be a huge shame, but seems the way all car manufacturers seem to be going now.
I'm ending up looking at Berlingo type 'mutli vans' as my next one as there isn't anything obvious to replace my 5 with across any maker.
So far I've had a suspension strut replacement under warranty
At the moment my seat is being investigated and possibly replaced under warranty as well due to a broken pivot bolt.
Both times I have to say I've had a good experience, a bit slow for the decision, but the garage has kept me...
update - finally got it into the garage after waiting for the appointment only to be told that the pivot bolt not available as a part.
MG currently reviewing if they need to replace the whole seat!
will update when i know the plan.
the only root cause anyone can think of is either
a) it was...
