    Range loss in Winter

I’m on second MGZS EV. Range drops dramatically in winter for many reasons. Battery temperature being the must relevant. Also use of heating: heated seats use very little. Cabin heating/cooling much more. Insignificant from other electrics (lights, radio, windscreen wipers etc). Don’t worry...

    Broken Springs

Quoted around £176.00 for one. Don’t know if that included VAT or if it would be doubled for two.

    Broken Springs

One went at just over 6500 miles, the next at 15000. Both now replaced. No quibble second one but first one was a hassle as garage said it was pot hole damage. Because I have some knowledge of metallurgy and pointed out porosity in the metal, they changed their minds. This garage has since gone...

    Broken Springs

Just had another rear spring go on my Gen2 MGZSEV Trophy LR. Last one I had hassle to get it replaced under warranty and had to wait six weeks waiting time frame. This time it was replaced within two days. However only one can be replaced under warranty but mechanic has recommended replacing in...

    Range loss in Winter

If you press the m/kWh button twice, it will show the miles per kWh over all of the journeys you have made since it was last re-set. That will be a more accurate indication of your overall energy use. This number will only alter slowly as the seasons or your driving style changes.

    Which at home charger?

I’ve now got Zappi with solar divert. Unfortunately there’s been no solar to divert since I had it fitted🥴 Roll on brighter weather.

    Which at home charger?

I’ve recently changed my EO charger (DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT GETTING ONE). Pls excuse capitals. I now have a Zappi charger which is compatible with my solar panels and battery pack. Only had it since January but it has been much more reliable than the EO before. ( Just in case you are foolish...

    Range loss in Winter

I’m about the same 3.6 - 4.5 mi/kWh in summer. 2.6 in winter, i.e. 4°C or lower. 300 + miles in summer. 180-210 in winter depending on overall temp.

    Knocking noise in the rear

Have you looked at the rear springs? I’ve just had the second one go on my MGZS TROPHY. This one replaced without quibble under warranty. Known fault with a batch of 72 plate cars.

    V2G Vehicle-to-Grid capability

And that “old” MG probably has a 70kWh battery with at least 89% left!

    Unwanted modifications MG5

Going out on a limb here🥴 but call house insurance company for advice or failing that, your car insurance. Don’t risk any more damage. PS. I’ve had something similar where a fallen branch at the roadside was clipped by a passing car flipped over and scored the side of my car.☹️

    Door Mirror Indicator?

I managed to get a whole mirror assembly for my previous Mk1 ZSEV from such a site for not much money. (Three years ago now so can’t remember details). Fortunately it was same colour as the car. Relatively easy fix. Good luck.

That’s great if you are in the gas grid.

    Charger Problem

Update. Having followed advice on this Forum, backed up with information from the CAB I issued a County Court summons against EO and within a month have been contacted by an EO legal adviser and been offered a financial settlement which I have accepted. This was paid within 24 hours.

    Charger Problem

Before giving EO any more money, I urge you to read the trust pilot reviews. When they work, they are good, hence the five stars from some. However, the slightest problem and the company ignores you, sends lots of platitudes and offers a new charger at an exorbitant price. Get out while you can...

So, Long Range you say ?

The initial reply was to explain one possibility for the vehicle steaming up. I get 3.7 miles per kWh over the year ranging from 2.9 in frosty weather to over 4.5 in summer.

So, Long Range you say ?

Are you driving in ECO mode? Cars tend to steam up more unless in N or S. for all the difference in mileage I tend to use N mode at all times. My first MGZS had 163 miles range, newer has nearly 300 in summer. Don’t do many long distances in this car so range is never a concern. My advice is...

    spring is broken

I had the same problem. Said to the dealer that it would be an MOT failure and therefore not safe to drive. Was quoted six weeks delivery for new part. No offer of hire car. Said that I would reject car for full refund. Guess what? Hire car provided. ( Don’t know about MOTs or sales of good acts...

So, Long Range you say ?

If you drive in Eco mode, the car tends to steam up because one of the energy savers is to reduce the power of the HVAC. Also make sure that the air recirculating button shows that it is in the correct mode and the arrow in the button has a gap to show that air is being drawn from outside and...
