Char.gy - Half Price Charging This Weekend (14th-15th)

May be useful for those of you relying on public points. Char.gy are offering half price charging this weekend. Started at midnight, but there's still time to make use of it for an overnight charge tonight. Fee for each point can be checked on their page/app - they are typically lamp post...

INSTAVOLT: Introducing New Off-Peak Pricing (From Sunday 1st September)

A good move, I think. I've always found Insta to be fast and reliable, but too pricey - worked out better for me to use a slower but cheaper service like PodPoint. If you expand the quote there are a few FAQs: Why is this only available to app users? Due to technical integrations we’re...

Tesla Charging Update, ZS EV, Free or Not Any Official Guide?

Fab - thank you! It gives me some kind of timeframe when it was working for others.

Tesla Charging Update, ZS EV, Free or Not Any Official Guide?

Sorry if this has been asked already, but does anyone know a definitive date when the Tesla update for the MK2 became available to be applied? I want to follow this up with my dealer. Same as others, I still get the "Unauthorized Vehicle" message when I try an open charger. My car was serviced...

    Rear seatbelt warning light query

The rear seatbelt warning light/sound can happen if there are a few items on the seat in my MK2, but more often than not for me this occurs when I have the seats folded down and the car fully loaded. At that point I can't really unpack it and shift things, so I suffer it until it quits - I don't...

    Charging query

Although perhaps tedious, it's well worth going through the car specs and manual (which is searchable if you've got it saved as a PDF). It'll probably clear up a lot of confusion, & although the translation is not the best it's still handy to have. Can be downloaded direct from MG: My MG | MG...

    Wirelessly CarPlay dongle

Have you checked out the existing thread on that's on this page? There are a few recommendations there that may help: https://www.mgevs.com/threads/recommendation-for-wireless-carplay-dongle.14564/

    Real world motorway range

For reference I've done this exact run in sunny May and only used 48%. Honestly for the sake of ease for my brain I'm just working on the basis I'll get 2 miles per % at this time of year for a journey like this, so personally I wouldn't have any anxiety about attempting the 165 miles based on...

    Real world motorway range

My most recent return journey stats up the M1 in a long range: -222.2 miles of this was pure motorway driven at 70 mph where allowed. -External temp was 6 degrees (a bit windy and some light rain, but otherwise no rough weather) -Normal drive mode -Heating kept on at 23 temp with a fan speed...

So do you like your MG ZS EV?

Yes, I like my ZS EV. There are a few things I would love to see improved or at least offered as an option in future such as: Driver's memory seat. It's a ? ache to readjust seat/mirrors when the vehicle is shared. Infotainment screen position switched with vents so it sits higher up and is...

Finally found a well designed cable protector.

We have a mixture of Ubitricity and Char.gy as suppliers for the lamppost service, and for those 5kW points they adapted them without any road/pavement digging - just the adjacent parking spot itself ringed off whilst they worked there for a few hours. I typically get 37kWh in the overnight...

Finally found a well designed cable protector.

This is what I rely on. There are now 9+ on our street let alone the surrounding roads, and it means if I can't use either of the 2 posts dead outside then there are others in easy reach. Couldn't always park outside the house anyway whether in an EV or not, and IMO it shouldn't be expected...

    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Just keep in mind that for customers like me, my car went straight from not built/on shortage, to having an arrival date. There was never an in-between status, so it could be similar for you. I'd still ask for further confirmation from the dealer if possible.

Home charging -- am I being ripped off?

Certainly looks like you're being reamed, to my novice eyes. I also can't have a home point and will/do rely solely on public services primarily via lamppost chargers and my Type 2 cable. My most recent charge cost me £10.77 for 37.15kWh whilst I was plugged in between midnight and 7am. If my...

    Vanarama Issues

How did you come to that conclusion? The posts I saw were someone being completely petty about another poster, whilst crying victim. Seemed perfectly reasonable for a mod to kick people into touch.

    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

It really isn't strong enough. I was being slowly roasted through the drivers side glass - no way can I cope with that in summer, so I'll have to get that sorted before then. And as you said, it'll then have a nice graduation through to the rear :) . I'm glad it came with the rears at...
