This is called security by obscurity. Yes, prestige/desirable cars will be targeted but people will nick what they can nick.
Someone tried to nick my ZS. when they couldn’t they went over the road and successfully took my neighbours C class Merc.
As someone who has designed vehicle security...
This is also why a Toyota Mirai is larger and heavier than a Tesla Model 3 LR, but has less interior and boot space. And that’s for a FCEV which is more efficient than any form of combustion.
Volumetric density is another issue. To house enough hydrogen to power the thing you have to take up most of the space where the people and things go.
I appreciate that it’s not a perfect example: rockets might not weigh much but they are huge.
Unfortunately burning hydrogen in air with any sort of efficiency means higher temperatures and that means that NOx is emitted. this isn’t the case with fuel cells but they have their own massive stack of problems. Pun intended.
We don’t know what’s holding up manufacturing. As an electronic engineer trying to get pretty much any parts right now is pot luck. SAIC and their suppliers will have more control than I do, but if it’s for example components only fitted to the long range battery that are scarce they’ll be...
Quite possible as other OEs do source parts (notably VAG for looms) from Ukraine. However, it may be that this is a case of misunderstanding/ poor communication somewhere along the line as I would be very surprised if SAIC sourced from there.
Thanks for this.
Whilst trim rattle hunting I went on to remove the whole A pillar trim as it’s easier than taking the tweeter insert out. This might allow for more sound proofing. there are airbag components (tethers) behind the trim, so be careful if working there.
I can only speak for myself. I wouldn’t find it cheeky. I have neighbours who don’t have off-road parking so I’d be more than happy to let them charge. If it was regular then we might want to come to some arrangement about costs, but I do what I can to help people to get into EV life.
Just a thought. How close can you get to yours or a friends house?
If just for an occasional balance charge then could you get away with a weather proof extension lead. 20m is doable.
My car came with C2, but I specifically needed SA15 (and 17 by default) applying to get delayed charging working. Possible that the module part of C2 had failed, but if you have Comfort 2 you don’t get to charge with the doors unlocked.
there may be an ‘SA’ to go with Comfort 2, but it’s not...
I’ve not had a problem beyond them not quite responding exactly to the changing conditions - so exactly like every other auto wiper I’ve used.
my biggest annoyance with the wipers is that with the car being so quiet I can hear the rear wiper motor.
All the same power unless you go for non-road legal stuff.
I fitted Osram Nightbreaker Lasers as I’ve found them good in the past. Brighter and a bit whiter than factory.
Sorry you’re having issues. I have Rolec and power line networking. I don’t have issues.
unfortunately powerline networks are a bit of a nightmare with regard to interference. And solving the problem is a job for magicians. ?
One thing to try is to use different sockets where possible. This...
