adaptive cruise

Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is a type of advanced driver-assistance system for road vehicles that automatically adjusts the vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead. As of 2019, it is also called by 20 unique names that describe that basic functionality. This is also known as Dynamic cruise control.Control is based on sensor information from on-board sensors. Such systems may use a radar, laser sensor or a camera setup allowing the vehicle to brake when it detects the car is approaching another vehicle ahead, then accelerate when traffic allows it to.
ACC technology is regarded as a key component of future generations of intelligent cars. The technology enhances passenger safety and convenience as well as increasing road capacity by maintaining optimal separation between vehicles and reducing driver errors. Vehicles with autonomous cruise control are considered a Level 1 autonomous car, as defined by SAE International. When combined with another driver assist feature such as lane centering, the vehicle is considered a Level 2 autonomous car.
Adaptive cruise control does not provide full autonomy: the system only provides some help to the driver, but does not drive the car by itself.

    Frightening Adaptive Cruise

Adaptive cruise control is an option I've always yearned for when looking at new cars, but having now experienced it I'm not sure I like it. In town traffic within 30/40mph zones it's excellent..brakes and accelerates nice and smooth, although sometimes needing a nudge of the left centre button...

Adaptive Cruise Control - Braking either on or off?

I've rarely had the opportunity (or motivation) to use ACC but a recent longish trip on fairly fast straightish highways seemed like a good time to try it again. Sadly, despite an OTA firmware update and a 20,000 km service earlier this year I found that it seems incapable of the kind of...

MG4 Adaptive Cruise seems very nervous?

Having used my MG4 ACC quite a bit now I’m finding its behaviour is…well…pretty nervous. Lots of de-acceleration when changing lanes, timid on bends, and not a lot of fluidity in how it accommodates cars changing into my lane. Any minor change in the speed of the car in front translates into...

Adaptive Cruise Control issues after update

Several software updates were performed during my MG4 SE LR first service in April. I now notice that the ACC function is behaving differently. It appears as if switching on ACC is now also enabling LKA, with the associated unpleasant steering nudges. Anyone else seeing this? One of my...

    Adaptive Cruise Control

Does anyone know when using ACC whether the brake lights come on when ACC brakes due to slow/stationary traffic please? I want to know if someone following me gets a warning of rapid deceleration. Thank you.

    Adaptive cruise control ACC

I've noticed if I drive on motorway at 70 mph and use the ACC and then use the brake to slow down, the battery will shut down. I recieve a fault and need to pull over. Shut the car down and restart and it works again. Is this a common fault or is there something I'm doing wrong?

    Annoying slowing in Adaptive Cruise

in our new EV, I have noticed that when in cruise on a country lane, and enter a slight bend, the car slows down, and down and down going round the bend. I always use Cruise control, but find this really annoying, does anyone know if it can be "muted" whilst in cruise? Thanks all

Loss of power on HS PHEV automatic on a hill puzzle

Driving the MG HS PHEV hybrid up a hill it seemed to lose power and didn’t respond. the adaptive cruise yellow light was on. Pulled over not sure what it was and it worked OK on restart. I wonder is there a setting that could have caused this?
