The taxicabs of the United States make up a mature system; most U.S. cities have a licensing scheme which restricts the number of taxicabs allowed. As of 2012 the total number of taxi cab drivers in the United States is 233,900; the average annual salary of a taxi cab driver is $22,820 and the expected percent job increase over the next 10 years is 16%.Some cities use "taxi medallions" as permits for taxicab drivers to pick up passengers. Because the medallion system is a government-created intentional constraint on the supply of taxicabs, and historically cities have increased the number of medallions much more slowly than the growth in demand for taxis, medallions have generally been considered a great investment; though recently the increased supply of cars for hire created by ridesharing companies has been eroding the value of medallions.Taxicab companies may be independently owned small businesses with only one taxicab and driver or have fleets of 100 or more taxicabs. Drivers are rarely employees of the company, and usually lease the taxicab on a per-shift basis. Cabs can also be owned by separately-incorporated small businesses that subscribe to a dispatch service. The owner/driver will pay a monthly fee to the taxicab company; purchase and maintain his own vehicle, and may in turn lease shifts to other drivers.
Ridesharing companies are major competitors to taxi companies, providing on-demand for-hire car service through a smartphone app in many US cities. They are generally treated as black-car services from a legal standpoint and are not generally regulated under Taxi laws. This can cause friction with both local governments and taxi companies.
Hello
Just had a call from the garage I got my car from and have it serviced there. They are booking it in at the same time as my service next week for a software update on the HV battery. My car is a 21plate, has anyone had this done on a three year old car.
I’ve received a quote from my dealer for a service plan for three annual services and the first MOT for the cost of £471.39. What does everybody think, it’s sounds expensive to me because I thought ev sevicng would be cheaper because no oil change, filters etc
Car went in for a service today, raised the issue of a peeling finish on the Drive selector top.
Returned as it was, the fault is classed as a trim issue which only has a 2 year warranty. They want to replace the entire selector at £172
I read on hear a couple of thread that peopl have...

I was going to book the second years service for the Wife's zs ev, on enquiring what it entailed I was told that the brake fluid would be changed and the pollen filter would be replaced. why do they change the brake fluid on a relatively new car, is this the norm? I'm a great believer in if it...
well some might argue £111 pound for a car service this day n age is good ..... maybe but from the video and info received from Drive it appears they were mainly interested in my tyres ...... what should be checked on an ev vehicle ?
Do I wait for the car to tell me the service is required, or is there a max interval to keep the warranty going?
My MG5 is coming up to two years in December, and I've had it 6 months
