charge port
The initial versions of the USB standard specified connectors that were easy to use and that would have acceptable life spans; revisions of the standard added smaller connectors useful for compact portable devices. Higher-speed development of the USB standard gave rise to another family of connectors to permit additional data paths. All versions of USB specify cable properties; version 3.x cables include additional data paths. The USB standard included power supply to peripheral devices; modern versions of the standard extend the power delivery limits for battery charging and devices requiring up to 100 watts. USB has been selected as the standard charging format for many mobile phones, reducing the proliferation of proprietary chargers.
So.... the charge port door "arm" has fractured. Not completely broken, but not far off.
Was thinking to remove the door, lay it flat on its back and see if I can dribble superglue into the fracture..... or possibly look at replacement.
Anyone got any experience removing the door arm ?
Having had some problems with the charge port door on our Trophy not staying closed unless it was held closed while the car was locked (replacement now on order under warranty) we now have the opposite problem in that the door now refuses to open.
The only reference I can find to the issue...
The charge socket on the car appears to have a locking pin at the 12 o'clock position that deploys to prevent the plug being removed. Mine appears to have become confused and is deployed without the plug inserted so I cannot properly insert the charge plug.
Is there a way to reset this or...
So, last night my MG4 did not accept charge from my Ohme Pro. This morning I tried to charge it on Max Charging (no schedule) and it didn't work except when I went into the car and pressed Start Charging on the infotainment screen.
Tried it with the granny lead - same story - needed to press...
Winter! Currently unable to charge as the door to the charging port is stuck. Presumably frozen somehow. We are completely unable to open it. Any ideas?
We have tried spraying in de-icer, heating it with a radiator under a blanket. Nothing works. It’s -5 and not expected to go above zero for...
Just wondering if you can turn off the Cars Charge Port Lights?
ATM it’s charging and they’re just super bright screen out in the darkness.
Minor observation but is it possible?
Lastly,
When the cars fully charged but wire stays plugged in,
Will the 4 Green Lights that show it’s fully...
Hey
I recently had the charge flap replaced on my FL MG5 LR. Looking at the charge port it is not quite centred and a little to the left.
I have seen a few photos on here that suggest that might be normal.
Would people mind posting photos of their charge port with the rubber covers removed...
I'm in a new Long Range SE, I just need someone to clarify I'm not going mad.
The LEDS on the left side of the charge port should be lit up the same as the right side?
Faulty perhaps?
How hard does one need to pull on the emergency release cable to unlock the charge port?
I just cant seem to be able to release it?
The car is dead, I suspect a 12V battery drain.
Hello,
As I've only had the car a couple of weeks and I'm used to my old Hyundai Ioniq 38kWh screaming at me if the charge port was left open, I was a bit surprised to be informed by another driver when I was passing them that my charge port (cover and mennekes/7kWh flap) were open to the...
Guys I remember the very first time when I charge my MG4. There was charge port lights lit up, only recently I realised it hasn’t been on since that first charge, not that I’m too concern about the light, but I’d still like to know how do I turn them lights back on again?
Appreciate if anyone...
I have had the most appalling customer service experience of my life with MG.
I posted on here about a broken CP in my charge port on the front of my MK2 ZS EV.
It went like this:
Called the dealer. ‘Sorry Service is shut until Tuesday. Ring MG Assist
MG Assist (AA) logged the call. Engineer...
Hi, Newbie here. Got my new MG4 Trophy a few days ago. When charging for the first time I noticed that there is a removable Waterproof Plug Bung covering the Lower ( DC ) Port but no removable Waterproof Cover on the Upper ( AC ) 7 Pin Port, although there appears to be a hole provided to locate...
My charge port lights have stopped working after 2 months. Not illuminating so no white, blue or green lights but car still charges OK.
Going to check fuse tomorrow. Has anyone found it to be the fuse or had to get dealer to fix it?
Charge port is stock on my ZS EV. Gen 1
Does anyone know what to do?
I am stocked at home with about 15 % on the battery. So i can't drive it to the dealership tommorow that is located 70 km. away.
Hi all,
I can connect and register to my car using the app. But when I go to Charge Management page, it shows 'Charge Port Over Temperature' and doesnt allow me to charge from the app. But the car can be charged without any errors or warnings shown in the car. I am still using the supplied MG...
My MG4 has a dust cap for the two-hole ccs type port. But no dust cap for the type 2 port on the car. There's an attachment for it (or a tiny empty little hole for the attachment), but no cap. I asked the sales guy at my MG dealer and he advised that all MG4s they have received are all like...
So I bought an MG4 - One week in the cable locked to the car whilst charging (as normal) but it wouldn't release when finished. 40 minutes of pressing buttons on the MG app and in the car failed to solve it and given it was pouring down I left the car overnight and went home to read the manual...
