charging problem
In computer science, a charging argument is used to compare the output of an optimization algorithm to an optimal solution. It is typically used to show that an algorithm produces optimal results by proving the existence of a particular injective function. For profit maximization problems, the function can be any one-to-one mapping from elements of an optimal solution to elements of the algorithm's output. For cost minimization problems, the function can be any one-to-one mapping from elements of the algorithm's output to elements of an optimal solution.
Woken up this morning with the MG beeping its horn in a regular pattern. Turns out that the MG supplied granny charger has died after 2 weeks use  It had been plugged in for 2 days, the screen said it was charging, but it was still at the same 74% it was at 2 days ago.
Dug out the Aussie...
Hi everyone - I wonder if anyone knows the way out of this problem? I had an email today from octopus (I'm on Intelligent octopus go) saying they had lost connection with my device (a Zappi) and to reconnect using the app. When I went to the app, it seemed to say I was still connected so I did...
I preheated the cabin for the first time last month while the car was still attached to my home charger. I had charged overnight and it stopped at 80% as set and put in about 12.5kWh. The preheating used about 3% so when I got into the car it was reading 77% charge.
Next time I came to charge...
My 4 Trophy stopped charging when I plugged it in and the four charge level indicator lights around the charging socket also stopped working. This was a pain as I could only start charging using the app on my phone. I tried starting the charge from inside the car and it worked, but it didn't...
Hi - I'm a new poster so apologies if I inadvertently get something wrong. I've had my MG4 for about 6 weeks now and love it. I have a Zappi to charge it and and am on the Octopus Intelligent Go tariff. All has gone well save for today .... we had a power cut last night and also the night...
The car has stopped charging at anything above 3kw. I've been to numerous type2 chargers where I was consistenly getting ~7kw previously and now it's only 2.7kw.
These are single points, not shared with other cars. I've tried some things like reducing to 8A and back to max but no difference...
Hi to all, my wife's MG4LR was called by our supplying garage for its yearly safety checks and to install an update to the internal computers. They had the car all day and all seemed OK.
However we could not charge the car as before the service. It would charge on our home 11kW charger about 5%...
So once i had the correct charging lead from the MG garage I bought my MG 4 Trophy from (5 month old car) and had a software update done at the MG service garage, I have been granny charging at home - with no problem. I have done this three times - off a 30 m bog standard extension lead from...

I am away from my normal home charger and trying to use scheduled charging. In the car I have set the charging period for the cheaper rate over night, got out the car, locked it to make sure all power was off, unlocked it to open the flap, plugged in the granny charger, connected to the mains...
Hi All,
After a bit of advice and hoping some can help!
I've recently got a 72 plate ZS Trophy Long Range MK2
I'm having trouble being able to charge with the granny cable, I was intending on this being my main means of charging but instead I'm having to resort to public chargers at the moment...
Hi all,
I want to share an ongoing issue with my MG4 standard range. The car is currently sitting in my driveway, dead as hell. I called the AA and they confirmed on visit the 12v battery is borked and is not taking any charge. The car will be towed to the garage either today or tomorrow.
So...
MG UK needs to seriously raise its game and become an EV Technology company. Vehicle and Customer support are stuck in the dark ages with customers having to wait weeks or months to have an issue investigated utilising the archaic ‘garage’ practice of plugging the vehicle into limited...
Over the summer most of our charging has been using power from the solar panels and ECO or ECO+ on the Zappi. On occasions I have set the car to charge at FAST between 00.30 and 4.30 am on Octopus Go and this is where the problems arise. Last night I set the Zappi to ECO+ (so that it did not...
Hi all I have had my 2020 MG ZS EV for 4 months now, we don't do many miles and have always charged it the with home granny charger which sometimes will charge it between 172 and 188 miles in normal mode, last weekend i had to do a longer trip and so i had to charge it on a fast charger...
Just seen this on FB
'ALERT MG4 long range cars will NOT charge with new dual CCS BP pulse 150kW VW battery based high power charging stations.
If you own an MG4, please test your car on one of these stations to confirm yours has the fault.
Once confirmed, please report this to your nearest...
I think we have just experienced A Series of Unfortunate Events. but may I ask for the collective wisdom of the forum, please.
On Friday we slow charged the car (SE LR) to full, planning a journey yesterday. We drove about 100 miles, and, as charging closer to home is rather expensive, thought...
Stranded in France. Nobody knows anything. After three weeks at our French house we were coming home yesterday and couldn’t charge at public stations at all. Quite a number tried and looks like handshaking is the problem and it must be the car. Also had to use little manual emergency cable to be...
Hello! I am at home and simply want to charge the car up using our charging point outside. Is there a particular order to plugging in the chargers, car first or wall first, does the car have to be locked, after opening flap, or what?! It just will not charge! Blue light on plug socket on car...
