comparison
Comparison or comparing is the act of evaluating two or more things by determining the relevant, comparable characteristics of each thing, and then determining which characteristics of each are similar to the other, which are different, and to what degree. Where characteristics are different, the differences may then be evaluated to determine which thing is best suited for a particular purpose. The description of similarities and differences found between the two things is also called a comparison. Comparison can take many distinct forms, varying by field:
To compare is to bring two or more things together (physically or in contemplation) and to examine them systematically, identifying similarities and differences among them. Comparison has a different meaning within each framework of study. Any exploration of the similarities or differences of two or more units is a comparison. In the most limited sense, it consists of comparing two units isolated from each other.
To compare things, they must have characteristics that are similar enough in relevant ways to merit comparison. If two things are too different to compare in a useful way, an attempt to compare them is colloquially referred to in English as "comparing apples and oranges." Comparison is widely used in society, in science and in the arts.
Has anyone here owned both an original mg5 and a facelift model? I am currently deciding whether to spend the extra on the newer model but looking for objective advice on the benefits and if it's worth the ~£40pm pcp difference.
Well of course they are....aren't they ?
Yes EVs are expensive, mostly, but I have been astounded by the price of new cars in general for some time. One of the many reasons I bought my first EV in 2020 was down to price. It was cheaper to my new ZS EV than to buy a Ford Focus, or any other...
Today a strange thing parked next to a red Kia and thought how much it resembled my blue MG .
Later at another location parked next to a blue Kia and my wife remarked which is ours.
Question is are the makers/designers related?
It's coming up to 5 years since we left the UK for Spain, I'm curious to know what folk are paying for 'cheap rate' electricity nowadays. Not dedicated EV charging rates, general overnight costs.
Anyone ?
This may have been raised before but I can't find the thread.
I am 84 years old and have a 2023 MG HS PHEV Exclusive, I cover about 4-5000 miles per year and have a spotless driving record. My current insurance is with Tesco Bank who increased my renewal premium by over 30% to almost £1000. I'd...
I am currently driving a Toyota Corolla and like the way it drives but the wife finds it a bit low to the ground. So recently I took a test drive in a Yaris Cross and a MG3 over the same route. First was the Yaris Cross. The first thing I noticed was how harsh and loud the engine was. Then...
I mean, I've got some big things but this drill bit is definitely off the scale!
Have you got anything that might be bigger than average?
@Ian Key........Stop it. ?
Have you also noticed that the ACTUAL speed of the mg3 on the speedo is almost the same as the speed recorded on the GPS?
It's the first time a car hasn't left a margin ... very useful for avoiding speed camera fines.
Feel free to merge with a more appropiate cost thread.
Thought I'd share the cost of my first EV experience after reaching 2000 miles, given that I only public charge.
I've spent £216 for 587kWh of energy. Taking into account the £45 bp pulse credit, delivery mileage and current remaining %...
Unbelievably, I am already having to look for car insurance.
I've had the car very nearly 12 months and just received the reminder today telling me they aren't renewing my policy!!!
I paid £598 last year with Hastings Direct.
It was a 'distress' purchase, as I was sat on the dealer forecourt...
Today I signed up for Tomato Energy Lifestyle. It looks as if I will be saving a decent amount of money over my current Intelligent Octopus Go, I have been a loyal customer of Octopus for many years but recent events on here have given me reason to look around and I was amazed to find this...
I intend to buy a Trophy LR because of the heated steering wheel, rear speakers, and faster DC charging speeds (although this may prove to be inconsequential in reality) however there is one thing that is niggling at me which I don't think will change my decision but I still would be interested...
I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or in Dull Men's Club... but I did a little Excel that can calculate charging costs vs petrol/diesel equivilents.
So this tells me that in almost all cases charging, including public charging, is cheaper than Petrol/Diesel.
Only the 50kwh charger...
I am currently driving a Toyota Corolla and considering an MG3 as my next car. If anyone has made a similar move I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
I've just spent three weeks driving a standard 72 plate Tesla Model 3 while my MG ZS was in for repairs for damage after being rear-ended. It made for an interesting comparison between the two cars which others might find interesting, so here's my personal experience:
Range:
My MG ZS is the...
